Yeah!  I can come on the 10-12, couldn't on the 24-26.  Thanks for changing it.

Maybe Barbie can come in Oct.  We will look for good, cheap flight for those dates.  Maybe I have a free ticket so I can check.  Then she can use that one & I can use one that Fred has. Sarah, glad to hear you will be coming..  Holly, are you coming?  A barbque sounds good, but Bruce, do you want to spend the whole time cooking?  Let's find a restaurant that's going to accommodate us so you can relax & enjoy yourself as well.  Just a suggestion.   Will be there for sure.  Glad these minis didn't end after our 50th!

Well..the dates are firm.....So what we need to do now is gang up on Sally Little who has managed to blow us off too many times. We know she is busy with pet sitting and Realestate and all that stuff.....but she has MONTHS to figure out how to get away for THREE FRIGGIN DAY"S. Al Greenleaf and I are looking at our options for a Saturday event....the Metro Parks only has a very limited number of places that alow for beer and wine..and they want $ 150 bucks for a permit. So we will most likely be looking at a Plan "B"  "C" and "D" if we have too. And Lin, you are right..being the "Social Butterfly" that I am...maybe we need to re-visit the food thing. Anyway...at least the dates are set.....Stay tuned....

Well, all I know is that in Oct. the weather can be iffy, so it seems easier to be at a restaurant than in a park bar- b-queing.  If we had it in Columbus, we could use my backyard.  Of course no one would drive to Columbus so we will have to go to a Plan B or C!  Hoping Gary Reis is feeling better.  I have had the whole infection in the incision, & it's not fun.  Then you have to start healing all over again!  I hope we get a lot of people since we have time to plan.

Well Girls,

It is hard to make a decision regarding meeting places. The reason we have been going with the BEACHCLIFF is because complaints of things being too noisy at the Lizard and hard to get seats together. I seems it is going to be hard to please everybody with the perfect venue. Both places have their good and bad points. It makes no difference to me. We could possibly do the Lizard on Saturday night, and some other place nearby for Friday night (any suggestions on that one ?).

I have been informed that Herbs Tavern has been sold to Herbs daughter and has gone down hill. But it holds some nostalgic value for me and I would like to meet up with a few who feel the same way while I am back there. Regarding Friday and Saturday nights..pretty soon a firm decision must be made and reservations put in place to lock in the dates. Hopefully the majority will be OK with the places chosen. I will get together with Al Greanleaf and Nancy Westerfield in the near future to make the final decision with their input. Remember....it's not the place...it's the people! Cheers!

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Brucey:  I don't think anyone cares really where it is.  I feel badly that I said that about the Tavern, but it was true.   Sorry! I will keep quiet the next time & go w/the flow.  Barb won't even be here, but we were talking about places around R.R. area.  Soooooo.....whatever anyone decides is fine.

Fred Thomas

As a professor of cultural anthropology I have been studying the American Homeless Tribe for decades.  It became clear to me early though that the so-called HOMELESS did not consider themselves as such.  When I asked them in their local tribal dialect questions like, "Hey mfer I gots some dope money for ya if you show me where you lives."  Invariably they would point to a bridge, junk car or a sturdy cardboard box.  They had homes so why should I project my middle class suburban mini mansion idea of what a home is on them.  Clearly this tribe of human flotsam and jetsam needed a new name.

Usually you could smell them 10 feet away so BATHLESS came to mind and when they opened their mouths to expose those missing, jagged and yellowing teeth, terms like TOOTHBRUSHLESS and FLOSSLESS seemed good but I was still in search for an all-encompassing name for this WORTHLESS and SHAMELESS tribe of human refuse.

Since alcoholism, drug addiction and mentall illnes seemed uniformly unique to these people I finally came up with a term that was non-judgmental, politically correct and yet universally true, BUMS.  Yes and I know they understand it because when I see a pack of them standing around a barrel fire, I say, "Why don't you BUMS get a job!!"  They almost always start running angrily toward me so they must recognize their correct tribal name, BUMS.
