Nancy Patch (Cosmos)

I haven't heard Pancy Natch in many many years.

I live in Dunedin...about 160 miles North of Barb.  Would love to get together sometime.

I can't do it when you will be down here...will be in Maine 6th thru 13th and then going to Aspen for my

grand nephews wedding 17th thru 21st of July.  Hopefully next time you come down.

Hope to get to Columbus end of Aug. and early Sept. Did Barb live in Westerville before Florida?

John good luck to you...don't let them get their claws in you.

Sounds like everyone has their health battles

Nancy

Glad to hear things are going well, John.  I have the website in my favorites so I never have to sign into it.  All should keep Nancy in your prayers too as she undergoes tests and results.  Itt is the waiting that is the worst.  I go for my surgery checkup tomorrow.  Should be able to go back to doing normal things again.  Since it is in the 90's here, I look forward to going for a swim in the pool!

Nancy: Enjoy the hectic times! They won't be w/us long at all.  Wish I had grandchildren to send off, but alas it wasn't meant to be.  Gotta do things now before we can't recognize ourselvs in the mirror!  J.K. just kidding.

Nancy P.:  We will be there in Oct. but haven't set a date yet.  Also will come Dec. 15 or so thru April.  Our condo is 5 min. from Barb.  Sally Oblinger lives 15 min. from us, so maybe she could go. Kathy Kleist lives 15 min. min from us the other way toward Ft Myers, so maybe we could all meet!

Hope alot of people show up on the 16th!

Kudos to Ellen Templar for getting Bearden's to reserve places for us, and posting it on the Home Page.  Yay, Ellen!

Holly Daugherty (Fash)

It is groovy that Ellen has coordinated all that.  It will be fun to get together with everyone.  It seems like all the reunions we were stationed outside the country and then last year we were going to Israel with our church two weeks after the reunion so couldn't make that one either.  It will be nice to just hang out with you guys.  Looking forward to it.

Wishing Larry a very Happy Birthday today!  Looking forward to seeing you and many others Monday at Bearden's.  Meanwhile, have a great day, Larry!

Pat  Reali has a birthday today, also!  Stop in and wish them both a very happy day today and/or/also on Monday where the class will be gathering for a mini at Bearden's.  Holly and family have made it to N. Ohio now and will be there also.  Plus some other out of town classmates!

Weather permitting, some of our classmates will be parking their classic cars (fins!).  To find out who with what really cool car, you will need to BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!

See ya later, alligator!

Holly Portz (Koiro (1945-2023))

Happy Birthday to the birthday boys and wishes for a healthy, happy year.  Good to hear that others are on the mend.  Sure wish I could join y'all at Beardens...how fun would that be?  Holly

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Happy Birthday, Larry!  Enjoy a Bearden burger today at the mini.  I was planning to come, but my hip is killing me & don't get my injection till July 1.  A two-hour drive will not do it any good for sure.  If we can have another mini in Aug., both Barb/ I can come.

Happy birthday and all the best to Larry and Pat!  May you live long enough to break Social Security!

Bruce, a BBQ sounds like a terrific idea to me!

A quick update on Gary Reis.....Nancy let me know that his progress is slow but steady.  He has been back to Fairview (think that's Cleveland Clinic now?) a couple times.  Had problems with Coumadin thinning his blood too much (I know what that's like!) and then had shakes.  She said that he is totally bored but trying to exercise although is tired as one might imagine.  Keep him in your prayers!

Barb

Bruce McKelvey (McKelvey)

Thanks Barb on Gary's update. Al, I will email you soon so we can talk about the BBQ idea. To see what would be the best way to pull it off.

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Well, Bruce...the best way to have a bar-b-que is to dial up your closest bar-b-que restaurant, right???Glad you are coming again.  Barb comes July 29 & leaves a couple weeks later.  Can't remember the date.  Anyway,  I hear the Bearden's reunion was small but nice.

Nancy Westerfield (Depew)

had a fun time at beardens, actually a smaller group, but thats okay, cause you really got to talk to everyone more.had lots of laughs, talked about jungle larry alot, and had there best peanut burger, was great to see everyone, but especially holly and her husband.,.great old cars, great "old" people, and lots of laughs.i dont know if anyone got there order right, the food was really mixed up that nt. we will plan on the next one.

06/19/14 11:50 AM #2135

Alan Greenleaf

You are spot on on all of it Nancy!  It was a beautiful day, and the cars were terrific (even for a non-car person!) and it was great fun to talk with everyone.

Barbie, you have a point.  If the weather is bad (in October?  Nahhh...) a restaurant would be better.  The trouble is we cannot predict the weather very well.

BTW, we recently had a nice meal at Bubba's BBQ (Bubba Baker, football, Shark Tank, etc) and his "boneless BBQ" was very good!  I think they have figured how to raise boneless pigs...

Bruce, were you planning on being the BBQ Chef?  Or, do you just want BBQ?

06/19/14 03:23 PM #2136

Sarah Eakin (Webster)

Is the date set for the October mini?  From an old message, I wrote Oct 10-12 on my calendar, then Bruce mentioned the 24-26.  The later, the colder (some of us have escaped to the south).  Remember it snowed on Columbus Day (Oct 12) our Senior Year.

06/19/14 04:13 PM #2137

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

The October mini date hasn't been set just yet, Sarah.  They will be working on that.  Watch for an annoucement down the road!

06/19/14 09:36 PM #2138

Bruce McKelvey (McKelvey)

Yup...the dates have been set. Oct 24th, 25th, 26th. The agenda has not been cast in stone as yet. Thinking about a BBQ in the Metro Parks on Saturday. Just bring what you want me to grill...and I will make it happen. This is just a suggestion....plan "B" would most likely be at the BEACHCLIFF TAVERN. Food is good and we have had it there before. Friday night would probably be at HERBS....maybe the last chance to do Herbs as Herb is in failing health.  Possibly breakfast on Sunday morning at an agreed on place before we all head home. Dates are firm...agenda is open for sugestions...majority rules. I am REALLY looking to getting together with my homies.....

Update on Gary Reis....he is back in the hospital with an infection in his incision.  Having surgery today to clean it out, but Nancy told me he will be in the hospital for a while. Just an FYI, the way I became friends with them is that we all went to the same church in Avon Lake.

OK..due to popular demand. Looks like the most sought after dates for "Geriatric Silliness" will (Most likely) be Oct.10th through the 12th....I know Buddy Manco wanted to attend and he is available that weekend.....Stay tuned for updates.
