If we decide to try to get together, let me know and we'll post the new of the pre-50th Mini on the site.  See you all in September, if not before.

Ya Brian,

Anybody who puts mercury coated coins in their mouth should seek counselling. By the way...if you swallow a quarter...can I expect change in a couple of hours !!!...lol

You can "hope' for it, Bruce...

How's the back after the drywall encounter??

06/09/13 11:25 AM #1669

Michael Matlak

Hey Bruce; I'm with you on hanging the drywall. But I think it was just a little too hot. As for swallowing  a quarter, I am not sure you"ll get change! Asfar as being "hot" wait till we get to the reunion. You are right Bruce. hubba hubba hubba

you know you guys, hanging dry wall is hard, years ago my girlfriend and i tried to do it because our husbands didn't want to,so we thought, what the hell, we can do/. it didn't happen, heavy, awkward,i finally ended up paying someone to do it,but we tried, and i would never want to do it again, god love you guys that try/.i rather watch someone else else do it now

Brian McKeown

Nancy, I completely agree.  At this point in life, I would suggest there are a lot of things we can/should "direct and/or supervise"  rather than "do."  It's not that we can't "do"....it's just that the recovery timefrom those indiscretions is sooooo long. Besides, "doing" interferes with playtime.

And you're right, Mike...Ain't no change commin' back.  Remember, its a "dry heat" in Arizona...so it doesn't bother folks as much...right, Bruce?  NOW tell me you didn't put mecury on dimes.  It's still HOT.   LQITC   wink

Helped my big brother celebrate a quiet Father's Day today.  We fixed

mom's famous meatloaf and potato salad---both mouth-watering

dishes.  And reminisced a bit about dad and family.

I hope all our classmate dad's had great, fun celebrations today with

the kids and grandkids.

Happy Father's Day to you all!!!

My husband was on the list for Viet Nam back in the '60;s.  By the grace of God, someone else went & he was stationed Stateside.  Boy, I can't imagine the terror you feel going into those situations.  I thank soldiers in the airport in their uniforms.  Even bought lunch for 1.  So grateful, but we're the grateful ones.  About to fill out my form for the reunion. Wow, time just zipped by.

06/27/13 12:04 PM #1680

Michael Matlak

Linda; It was by the grace of God that he did not go. I was also fortunate not to go either. But, I like you, Barb, Ellen and everyone, am very proud that we have such great people that have served and come back. We all should be thankful. Again great to hear from you and see you at the reunion. Mickey.

Well....I just got recruited to fly to Milwaukee, WI. to work the COUNTRY THUNDER concert July 15th through July 22nd. in Twin Lakes, WI. I will be working for the Director of Artist Management again like the event I worked in Florence,AZ in April this year. I have been assigned to the headliners for the event, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Dirks Bentley and most likely Morgan Frazier. You can Google Country Thunder/Wisconsin and go to their web page and check out the lineup for this year. I had a great time in April working with Toby Keith,Lady Antebellum and Diamond Rio,Jarod Neiman and others. Catered meals every day and a chance to hang out with some of the best in the Country Music business.

It will be nice to be in a cool rainy climate for a week even though my days will be twelve hours plus. Gonna be 119 degrees tomorrow, and 118 on Saturday. I don't even plan on going out of the house after work is over tomorrow.....

Please keep Yavapai County, AZ (my home from '90 to '96) in your thoughts, meditations and prayers.  And all of AZ.  This is just the beginning of the wildfire season in AZ.  But mostly keep the families of the 18 Prescott Hot Shots and the additional firefighter in your hearts and minds, along with those who have lost their homes.  Fire loss is devastating even without loss of life but this one is overwhelming!  My heart aches for the families of these brave men!

Rhonda Cooper (York)

My prayers are with the families of the firefighters.  I can't iimagine a "fire" season.

Bruce McKelvey (McKelvey)

Amen to what Ellen said. I owned a home in the Prescott Country Club a few years ago...what a beautiful part of Arizona. These Hotshots were fighting the fire and the wind changed as it does alot here, and they had no place to run....so tragic. We need to remember the one who survived only because he went to move one of the trucks...he is probably going through the 'Why did I survive" state of mind. Police and Fire are a very close brotherhood. God bless all their famlies...

This is a picture of the Prescott Granite Mountain Hotshots after a firefighting excursion in Oregon. The elite crew of firefighters trained to battle the Nati...on's deadliest wildfires was overtaken by an out of control blaze in Arizona, killing 19 of the 20 crew members. The Prescott Fire Department confirmed that the firefighters, all part of a group called the Prescott Granite Mountain Hotshots, had passed away Sunday evening.

Our thoughts and prayers go out the families, friends and colleagues of the 19 firefighters that died while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in central Arizona. We thank the Prescott Granite Mountain Hotshots for their extraordinary service and selfless sacrifices. May our fallen Heroes rest in peace. Godspeed to our Brothers and Sisters continuing to battle the wildfire.

No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

My prayers go out to the firefighters also.

Not to change the subject but. I find it hard to believe that so many of the class are going to the bar and not the dinner. I read here all the time about the cruise ships, vacations and winter resorts. I guess as you get older eating good and having a good time isn't in the budget. The band that has been chosen is great. They play 50's and 60's music and are a blast to listen and dance to. Maybe if we didn't have so many mini reunions everybody would have money for clothes and dinner

happy 4 everyone, remember all those great people who made this a wonderful usa for us,old and young these soldiers made this a better place for us. god bless america.

ok, i have to say this, lets not call our "mini" reunions that, how about just friends getting together for some good times, if you show up good, if not ok also. a fun nt. remembering the fun times,i spend more money at applebees than a nt out for myself with my grandkids.

with that said, for those who want some relaxation july 20 at herbs a sat. at 6p.m. hope those who want to come can make it, if not see you in sept.

Randy, we've got a technical difficulty with the head count.  The Friday night count is screwed up, and not as weird as it looks.  I haven't figured out a way to fix it, except to ask people to be sure that they go back in to the "5o-Year Reunion SEPT '13" link and complete the registration down at the bottom for the four events.  Any of y'all who read this and haven't done that, please do.  The Friday night head count is nearly double the actual, I think, because it includes the old  answer to "Attending Reunion?" that was set up four years ago.

It's always something!

Bruce McKelvey (McKelvey)

Hey Brother Randy,

I love ya man....but the "Mini-Reunions" ain't goin away. I agree that the 50th is very important and it's not like we can get another chance at it,and I would ask if anyone can possibly come, then they should be there. There may be a time down the road that you may really regret not being there.  The bottom line is that friends for fifty years plus still enjoy each others company and love getting together...and as long as I am alive...I will do all I can to promote hangin out together. Nothing better than "Geriatric Silliness"....keeps us young! LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!!!!
