John,

                         Who are you speaking about?

Larry Gilbert

John's sympathy was expressed to Pat Gillespie, whose brother Bob recently passed away.  Last night a bunch of Rocky Riverites from all classes met at the Linden Lounge to raise a glass to Bob "Diz" Gillespie.  Rest in peace.

john, you are such a nice guy,i think we all know that. your right the  "minis" are so much fun, because when we have them we still think "young",how i can remember 50years ago, and can't remember 2 minutes ago, if beyond me.i treasure the times i lived in rr,my best times with my family,i think aswe get older we appreciate these things more, i sure do. so lets hope our 50th will be wonderful, and for those that don't show, its there lost.,its certainley from not trying to get them there. we have to plan another "mini"to tie us over tillsept.

Can we have a mini after I get home late April? I know this is Larry's busiest time w/taxes. And Barb can now come on a Fri. afternoon as her hrs. were changed so we could do a Fri. nite.

Am so sorry about Pat's brother. I so remember people yelling "Hey Dizzy".  We don't think these times will come. My sister, Judy, just had a hip replacement & is doing fine, but we talked about how much closer we are to the end than when we were young & didn't think about it--EVER. Now, I don't dwell on it, but it gets closer each yr. so we have to enjoy each day. Who thought we'd be having heart & hip replacements?

Well, can't let it consume you so I will try to live each day & touch people I haven't touched in yrs.  This is a great forum for that!!

If participating in the American Economy is like sailing on the Titanic then should we be stuffing our faces with lobster and prime rib, listening to the orchestra, and curling up in the fetal position on a deck chair or should we be building a life boat?  And shoiuld that life boat contain bars of gold, deeds, stock and bond portfolios and bags of cash, or bottled water, cases of food, fishing poles and guns and ammo or something else all together?  And how do we stop other passengers from climbing aboard our life raft when the big boat sinks?

Now I don't see the iceberg yet so we just got off a 7 day Caribbean cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas last Sunday.  The total decadence was wonderful.  Carnival's Triumph was supposed to dock next to our ship on Monday but didn't make it.  They were towed to Mobile, Alabama five days later under adverse conditions.  Many say that they were glad not to be aboard but not me.  I would have been gladly dropped aboard for the minor inconveniences and yet the nice compensation from Carnival.

Tell me what you think.  fwthom@hotmail.com but don't send me any recycled mendacities from the internet.

Breathing is good, Al.  Here's another one breathing.  If you are in Green Valley, AZ (just south of Tucson on the way to the border) on a Wednesday.....stop in at the market at the Green Valley Mall between 10 am and 2 pm and visit your classmate, Larry Heil.  He has some really pretty jewelry and interesting things....

Those are GREAT pics.  Kathy Tabler looks exactly the same as when we were kids. Her Dad was part of a group that played cards I think w/my dad.  Tom Tabler as I remember.  Mr. Tabler to me!!! (Remember when parents said that. I remember smarting off to my mom & calling her Dottie, which she HATED.  I never did that again. And Barb gave the finger to the paper boy for walking on our grass. She never did that again either! Dorothy was quiet but wielded a firm hand!!!!)  MEMORIES! Bruce, you look great. Have you lost wt. or what?  Or is it just the good life?

Sorry if I forgot anyone's b-day.  Just screwed up.

Nancy, that would be great having another mini. But now i won't be home till May 1.  So, after that, we're in!!!

Hope you all are well & that we'll see each other soon.

Linda,

We had a great time when Ellen was here. SanTan Flats that night was fun. Well...ya can't fix ugly, but I did loose 36 pounds with Weight Watchers. I joined February 2012 @ 213 pounds and by late July I was at 180 pounds where I am @ most of the time. (1 or 2 pounds either way) It was good to see Holly and Bob and  the other folks as well. Always a good time at the mini reunions. Marsha and I will be there in September for the reunion and possibly a solo trip by me before then. Stay well everybody...and get ready to "LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!!)
