Happy belated B-Day Larry!  Updating everyone, Lin is home now.  She (as doctor put it) totally blew out her disk in the lower back.  He replaced it & still having back spasms.  Good news is she overdosed on Percocet by accident & at this point is feeling NO pain!!!  Her shower was even fun today.  Jud is here then I stay for weekend, Fred has Mon & Jud will be back Tues.  So, the saga goes on.  I will have minor surgery on 6/26.  I am SO over all this.  And we look so healthy........

Lin up and walking a bit but still in a lot of pain despite the meds.  Having a hard time as her other back surgeries weren't this severe.  She has a rod in her spine, and they had to replace some hardware, plus fuse 2 disks.  Quite a scar.  She saw for the first time yesterday when my granddaughter, Tatem, decided to take a mirror and show her.  Tate was a great help w/Lin and loved doing it.  She and Barkley (her dog) stayed w/me Friday night then we went to Lin's to help out all day.  She loves to do that as she feels like such a big girl!!  Love her to death.  Cullen was playing baseball but lost and their season is over.  They had such a great team too but just "off" yesterday.

Halleluiah, I am FINALLY feeling somewhat back to normal. Can start driving next week.  It's almost 3 wks, the steroids worked & am slowly getting feeling back in my leg. I was so worried it wouldn't go away & that I'd be limping forever. Nerves are very touchy!

Bill, Barb & I can only come on Sat., so that's just us. But if everyone else can go Thursdays, then we just won't be able to see you this time around.

Barb's surgery went well. She's back to work after 2 daysl. Just minor.  Now Judy our older sister is looking at a procedure. And our mother had absolutely nothing all her life, nor did my dad.  Mom used to say, & it resonates: Oh, you girls. If there's anything to get, you'll get it...That always made us all feel good. But truly, I guess secretly we must have begged for these surgeries.  Don't most people? They always love going under the knife!!!  NOT!!  All 3 of us joke about it today.

So happy to be back functioning again. Fred was so kind & such a trooper. I tried to freeze dinners before my surgeries to help out. But he did do the laundry as well.  Oh my....didn't realize you can't throw all the clothes of any color in at the same time even if they aren't dark dark colors. So he has some pink stuff & I have some as well. I would NEVER say a word because some husbands wouldn't do it at all!  Pink towels?  OK by me!

Lin:  Think of it as a whole new towel wardrobe!!!!  Sweet of him to do that!!!  Really glad you are back to functioning at least a bit and up to being here!  Glad Barbie's surgery went so well, too.  We really missed you both Saturday and hope you can make all the future ones!!!  But take it easy---you deserve that!!!  E

Hi Gang!

I don't get onto this forum much at all, but it is the perfect venue for me to say "Thank You!" to Guy and Debbie for a spectacular backyard event last weekend.  So nice to see so many old friends (OK, easy on the "old" part, Cliff).  Everything about the party was world-class!

BTW, I have a hunch that many others should be thanked as well, but the caution is that I'll miss too many who operated in stealth-mode, just beneath the radar.  In any event I saw Ellen and Nancy dashing about nearly all afternoon.  I'm pretty sure Larry and Tootsie were also fully immersed in the effort.  Bruce was a top-chef contributor on the grill (and a really nice suprise guest)!  To all these, and to all the others who helped without a lot of recognition, THANK YOU!

See you all again very soon I hope,

Cliff

As we celebrate our independence day with family and friends, let us take time to thank those who safe-guard it for us.  Thanks to those who serve, those who have served and those who gave all so that we can enjoy freedom and independence instead of the dictates and oppression so much of the world suffers!   May we never take our 'freedom' for granted because it is not free!  Many serve, have served and many have paid the price for our freedom!  Thanks always to them!

WOW!  Great job with the BBQ slideshow, Larry!!!  Of course I KNOW there were more photos of the featured guest---no, not Bruce (although that was a fun surprise!).  It was Randy's '29.  Photo doesn't do it justice and you can check it out some Monday night this summer at Bearden's Cruise-Ins.  Some photo credit may belong to Nancy and Debbie as I incorporated their photos in with mine.  And I must admit that Debbie wasn't 'getting ready'.  Well, she was kinda....getting ready to throw that tray AT me!  Not ready for her pic to be taken.  Sue Gammel graduated in 1990, right?  From Bay....with Debbie Muscenti!

So great to see what Barb & I missed! Looks like so much fun. And Bob Lemon--my always date at the 1st dance where girls ask the guys! We were so shy--both of us, & yet we always had so much fun together. Wish I had been there, Bob, so we could have reminisced!!!!

Also, haven't seen Cliff for awhile.  And Sue Gammel--we had talked of meeting there, but then my back had other ideas. So I hope someday we can be there w/everyone as this summer was not so good for Barb/me.  We appear to be healthy now, tho my doc told me he thinks I have a disc problem in my neck. I have degenerative disc disease, which is, as a doc Barb knows, saidl, it's like a cat chasing his tail. You can't keep up because the discs keep deteriorating. But right now, I feel soooooo much better & back to normal!!

Ellen, looks like you helped Deb & Guy & it was a great  time for everybody. I would love to have one here, but who would come to Westerville? It's about 2 hrs. away. Anyone interested, & I will do it for sure. We have a great back yard we could use for sure. But, I know most of you probably would say no.  Let me know & we'll make it happen. Westeville truly isn't that far.

Larry, great job w/pics.  And Soros was there; haven't seen her since last yr.  Oh, my, the memories go on and on!!!!
