Thanks for reading, Bruce.  And that's one guess.  However, if you read the entire thing you will discover that you will need to bring your answer/s with you to the mini on June 23rd at Guy and Debbie's in order to collect nickels.  Can we count on seeing you there?

Liking your June holidays.  Ellen, did you take the time to format and write all that?

 You are amazing?

Are you renting your cottage near RR again this summer?

05/24/12 11:27 PM #1346

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

Holly:

It was interesting to find so many 'holidays' in June but I have to admit to finding it and only writing the comments in maroon.

Yes, a different 'cottage' this year so I can be lazy...well some of the time anyway.

Well, another saga with my granddaughter, Kylee.  Apparently she went to the doctor to have the pins taken out of her arm but was in so much pain the doctor said he would put her under sedation.  The arm is healed but the pins gave her an infection.  So......another surgery!  This poor little thing is a trooper though.  I talked w/her yesterday and she said she was doing "just fine."  Has never complained about the pain or anything so guess Mom & Dad didn't know.  Awaiting news on what is causing Lin's pain down her leg.  She goes to the doctor today.  Hopefully, the rod in her spine didn't snap when she had a fall.  That poor thing has been through the mill.  Say a couple prayers as it doesn't look good right now.  Thanks!

Barb

Barbie:  Keep us posted on both!!!!!

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

Thanks to John & Ellen regarding my little granddaughter.  She is a trooper though.  Always a smile on her face no matter what!!  Regarding Lin, the doctor read MRI & said she has a HUGE, HUGE bulging disk in her spine & he has to operate.  She is having it a week from this Monday as she wants to go to New Albany Hospital which is very plush.  Jud is in Medina so she will spend a couple days w/Lin & I will take over.  Do have a not-so-big surgery on 6-26 that I put off until after my ankle surgery.  SOOOOOO sick of surgeries for both of us.  Lin mainly has been her back--mine are all different from hernia to whatever!  Mine is just an in and out so I'll be fine, but this is my 11th if you can believe that.  Mom was almost 99 and had a stroke at 90--beyond that she had nothing.  She used to say "What is it w/you girls!"  We told her it wasn't as though we asked for it!!!!  Anyway, prayers from anyone, especially for Lin as this is another big one for her.  Thanks.

Fondly,

Barb

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Goodness, let me clarify why Barb said I am going to New Albany Hosp.  It was owned by 10 physicians & they wanted to build a unique hosp that puts the PATIENT first w/attention to all details for comfort. Riverside is a great hosp. but the nurses are so overworked that the last time I went there I had to wait 6 hrs. PAST when my meds were due! Talk about pain after surgery! So if you have to chance to go to New Albany, (which I have been to once before for surgery), why would I go to Riverside??? No brainer. So it's not that I am a snooty person, it's just I like a hospital that caters to patients & has enough staff to do it! The docs sold it to Mt. Carmel/St. Ann's, & they have kept the standards that way.  Just wanted to clarify that little point!

can't wait to be out of agony. Never have felt this pain in my whole life. Disk is pinching off the nerve apparently causing excruciating ain that even meds can't seem to touch. Have Percoset--nothing! So I have to take care of this!

Ah, yes, Larry is correct.....there are out-of-town mystery guests possibly attending on June 23rd at Cartwright's in Huron.  I had the tour today and it's beautiful.  We can sprawl for miles in the grass!!!!  Don't miss out on this one!!!

An update on Lin.  She had her surgery yesterday & had blown out her entire disk in the spin.  Believe they replaced it & I know fusion was involved.  She is in pain when she is lying down but they got her up to walk almost immediately (has had blood clots before).  She said pain much less when upright.  This will take care of the agony she's gone through for 3 weeks waiting for surgery.  She'll be in the hospital for a couple days and then Jud is going to stay w/her for a couple days, then I will help her on weekend and after work when I can.  Mostly I will try to help w/meals so Fred doesn't have to worry about it.  He's a great cook, but he works hard all day too.  Will keep you apprised, but in the end the pain will all be gone thank heaven.  Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers.

Barb

Thanks for the update, Barbie!  It's GREAT news!!!  We're all pullin' for her!!!  How are you???

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

Lin is still in the hospital as the pain is extreme.  Supposed to come home today (Wed) as long as pain is under control.  Unfortunately, neither of us will make the mini-reunion but will be there in our thoughts!  I have to undergo a minor surgery 6-26 but nothing like Lin's.  Hopefully will only be out of work a day or two.  I cannot tell you how sick we are of all these things that keep popping up, but you just keep going..  Everyone thinks we look so healthy, which basically we are.  Hopefully, this is it once and for all!!  Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Barbie

Pain is a total bummer---hopefully that will subside quickly!!!  Pulling for you both---keep us posted.  We will MISS you on the 23rd.

Debbie, Guy and I got together last night to plot the 2nd Annual Backyard BBQ coming up on Saturday, June 23.  Looks like attendance is going to be great!  The backyard is beautiful (don't be shy about raiding the lettuce beds!).  Debbie's green thumb is showing!  That and Guy's endless acres of lawn-mowing!

Hopefully Randy's '29 will be parked back there for everyone to see.  I understand that it is gorgeous!   Guy has parking plans that only he understands (sorry Guy, the vision just didn't form in my head!).  So be sure and check with him when you come in to park.   He'll be the one in the chef's apron slaving over the grill.

Gotta go shop now.......
