Hey Barb.  You can't pin that one on me!  lol  I don't even remember who either of those guys were...let alone date them.  So if that is what THEY told you, they LIED!!!

I live about 2+ hrs. east of Southlake and must admit I have never been there.  Perhaps we could meet in Dallas sometime.

Barry Nichols was w/Sally (he was in our class for a short time) & his parents were good friends w/my parents.  Then he went to private school I think--must have been those darn uruly Rocky River guys!  John went to Lakewood High.  Maybe it wasn't you then.  Okay, I'll forgive & forget now.  I don't even know how I was w/him in the first place!  Let me see about trying to connect when in Dallas!

Love,

B

John,

You are lucky they didn't ride you out on a "rail"!

Beardenburgers will give ya a big caboose!

You enjoyed high school more than the rest of us, since you were there a year longer!

Nancy,

yada yada, yada!

John,

I never played chicken with the train, just regular stuff like making rockets and bombs, climbing  the cliff next to the Lake and River, riding on the ice floes on Lake Erie, climbing trees to see how high we could get, riding five on a bike and throwing slushballs at cars.  We did put pennies on the tracks to get squashed by that steam engine though.  That train was awesome, spewing out all that black smoke.  I once threw a rotten apple as a car passed by and I led perfectly as the apple came down right on the windshield.  I had to cut through a lot of back yards to get home that day as they were chasing me, but I was always proud of that perfect shot.  I can still picture it in my mind.

I guess we are incredibly lucky not to have our eyes put out from those spears, arrows, buckeyes and clumps of clay we used to fight with and not to have more broken bones but  I miss the days when we were made of rubber and had infinite energy.

John,

To set the record straight it was not my dad's car and I was not driving but of course we were roaring drunk.  I did win the battle though because I wiped out the windshield and the car took car of the pole.  Those new fangled inventions called seat belts and air bags are for pussies.  Those were the days, yeah!!!

What the what?  Are you trying to tell us this was your private yacht?

Holly,

That is a photo of our cruise ship.  The Captain says we can board as soon as they straighten it out.  When we get on the ship I'm getting a double pina colada and then hitting the blackjack table instead of going to the practice life boat drill.  What do you think?

02/04/12 07:54 PM #1252

Holly Portz (Koiro (1945-2023))

Doesn't seem the life boat drills (such as they were) did any good  so you might as well get drunk and go for broke!   We'll miss you at the reunion.

Our little baby Reese is still struggling w/ear infections even w/tubes in her ears.  I pray she will outgrow them soon.  Will be going down at Easter time to spend time w/ Derron & his family.  Hope to give them some relief time at night.  Reese still gets up every night crying.  My heart breaks for them.  She is so stinkin' cute!!

Well, John....no one even noticed I was gone!!!! Seems the days fly by & then I'm too tired to get on line. But it's Sunday, my day of rest. Just heard last nite Whitney Houston died. That's so sad. Her life fell apart when she married Bobby Brown. She of course made the choice to do drugs, but we lived in N.J. 10 min. from them, & when you drove by their house, he was outside w/6 or 7 thugs hanging around a big expensive car & drinking beer & whatever else they did!  I loved her voice. It could just soothe you listening to some of her songs.

I'm in Fla., but it's more like Fall in Ohio! It went down in the 40s last nite & it's windy & very nippy today. Sweater plus a jacket is what you have to wear. Of course the Fla. people put on wool & heavy jackets & hats & gloves. It makes me laugh!  I like the cooler weather myself.

Well, gotta balance the old checkbook as I think I've spent a lot of money down here! The Miromar Outlets are across the street from our community!  Not good!!!!

By the way, Johnnie, I have sent you a couple emails & have not ever had an answer. You send me all the jokes, but never a personal message! Have I gotten on your bad side or something????  Also, Ellen, Fred's parents lived in Fountain Hills for 20 yrs.  It is a beautiful place. The fountain comes on periodically all day & soars so high I couldn't believe it!

Anyone else wonder that Linda Peate and John Dawson were absent from the RR web site at the same time and reappear on the same day.  Hummmmm.......  Just wondering.

Happy Valentine's Day to all the beautiful ladies in the class of 63.   You are truly amazing!

Well, Guy:  you guessed it. John & I were vacationing in Fla. w/my husband! How did you guess? Actually, this has been an ongoing thing w/John & the panty raid! We all laughed our heads off because none of us can stay awake past 11:00!!! Anyway, what John didn't tell you was we just skipped the raid & left our panties on the park bench. Guess Johnnie didn't even recognize panties when he saw them!!!

Fred flew back to Ohio just in time for a snowfall.  He leaves 75 deg. weather & in 2 hrs. is back in gray, snowy weather! Amazing what air travel is. However, his back was killing him because there were no springs in his seat whatsoever & the seat back was broken. Good ole air travel. Air Tran is cheap travel for a reason!

I spent Valentine's Day w/friends at a dinner/dance. That was fun! Just the 5 of us! It's amazing how tired you get dancing now! And I hear some old songs & remember being in 7th grade at a dance & just dancing until the dance was over, non-stop! Amazing how the old bones just start to ache & the stamina just isn't there. Larry Gilbert--you know what you said, which I STILL laugh at regarding stamina!!!

Gotta go. If anyone prefers emailing me, it's :   linda@insight.rr.com

p.s. It was so funny Christmas Day. The pic of Barb's grandchildren was a classic. Santa came in & the little ones were AMAZED! But the twins were just a bit skeptical. Cullen asked him if that was a real beard (which it is!). So I think they were afraid NOT to believe in Santa. But it was cute. Missed our mom because she used to love it when Santa came to the house & then the pinata for the kids. But nothing ever stays the same, does it?!
