Barbara Peate (Sabo)

Bruce--I am thrilled about your good news!!!  As you probably know, Reese did not lose her finger, & all prayers worked.  I was down to begging God for her sake & my son's.  I wish you a truly Merry Christmas, which it sounds as though it will be.  Lin & Fred have been so kind as to host Christmas at their beautiful home.  My daughter & her family w/twins, my son & his family w/Reese & Kylee, & my niece w/her children Tyler & Kathleen will all share Dec. 26th together.  Derron gets in on the 25th after their Christmas in Dallas, so we always do Christmas on the 26th--kids want to play w/their toys on Christmas Day!  The house will be full of love & sharing.  We will miss Tahnee as always--she was very close to Derron as growing up they were both underdogs & bonded together.  She would love to have seen his children.  Miss her smile & laugh everyday.  To all have a wonder Merry Christmas.

Love,

Barbie

On a more serious note, this lady claims to have eaten two lobster tails on a recent cruise out of Galvaston to the Caribbean islands of Cozumel, Grand Caymans and Jamaica aboard the Mariner of the Seas.  Life is a challenge as a senior citizen.  There is so much lobster and filet mignon to eat, so many islands to see, and yet so little time.

Nance:  Fred & I leave for Fla. on Jan. 13.  Sorry about that, but if everyone else can go, then I'll have to lose out on it this time!  We enjoy getting away & up to Cleve. again to see our old stomping grounds & familiar faces!  Just let me know if you can do it the 6th.  If not, I lose!!!!

Hope all of you had a very merry Christmas.  My son came from Dallas this year to visit for a couple days w/us then off to the inlaws in Toledo.  Reese's hand is healing but she is still in a lot of pain from it.  We thank God that it will be like new but actually will take a year for that to happen.  Her finger is so tiny it's hard to image it is healing so well.  Had our Christmas on the 26th, & the kids had so much fun.  Presents galore, lots of food, peppermint stick snowballs for dessert, and a pinata to break (tradition since kids were little).  Candy--just what they needed!  There was so much laughter and fun.  We all thank Lin & Fred for their wonderful hospitality.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.

Last night, I actually dreamed we were at THE REUNION!!!

Only, get this, we all had to line up on the bleachers in the gym while they took attendance!!!

And I still couldn't tell the PEATE twins apart!

What a night!

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

I AM one of the Peate twins, & I still can't tell us apart!!! We always have thought we didn't look alike so never thought about anyone not knowing which was which.  It never bothered us, & we still answer to the other one's name.  I will be at Lin & Fred's assisted-living facility, & inevitably someone will say "oh my gosh, you got your hair cut!"  It will be me of course.  I want everyone to know how kind & generous Lin & Fred are, & how much they have done for our family.  Christmas this year was wonderful, & we realize will be the last the children will be here together.  Judy's family will go to Florida next year, & I believe Derron & Wendi will stay home next year.  Our choice will be to go to Derron's, so hopefully that's what will happen.  Santa came to Lin's house, & he brings a little gift & reads a story.  Has done this for 4 years now. Lin & Fred had tons of food (all of us took something, but Fred cooked a huge filet & a ham!).  Time for diets.  This Friday I get my cast off & will be in a black boot (knee high) for 3 weeks.  I will now be able to take it off & drive.  Haven't driven since the end of November.  Yipee!!  Hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve!

Barb

I hope many of you will be at the mini-reunion today at Bearden's!  Great place to gather for those Beardenburgers and mostly to watch the train!  Or is it Herb's????  Whatever, enjoy each other.  Cinnamon just lost a close classmate (age 40).  Life is short!  I'll be working away here but you all have a GREAT time together and ENJOY!
