Good for you, Nance.  I would love to have had grandkids so I could do that!  But, Barb & I both go to her grandkids' activities.  Went to Texas to visit her son & dghtr-in-law, & a 1 & 4 yr. old. We are, to say the least, EXHAUSTED!!!!  Derron was at a sales mtg. in Calif., & his wife just received a huge promotion w/her corp. & is sooooo busy.  So we kept the baby during the day so she didn't have to go to day care because she was sick, & we needed to get to know her. We don't see her often. She is soooo  cute & just smiles at you when you go in & pick her up out of her crib. It melts my heart. And little Miss Kylee is a non-stop chatterer!!!  Soooo intelligent. But, it was good to be w/them, even if we were tired. Wendi never gets home till 6:30 or so.  Long day for her.

Hope to see you all soon, but don't think many will be here until our 50th.  What a blast that will be!!!

this is a sad day for all americans-9-11,i hope we remember all the people who lost there lives, and the unselfish people who tried to bring the highjackers down instead of just sitting there knowing they were going to die.god bless them all, they were truly heroe's.

we all remember where we were at this time when those planes hit the tower, and watched for weeks on tv,to figure out how this happenend to the usa, hopefully this will never happen again.

The Truth About 9/11

When someone found an unusual fingerprint on one of the pieces of rubble from the twin towers it led to the uncovering of the original plot to blow up the towers.  It seems thar hundreds of stooges hauled explosive charges up to all the floors of each tower and building 7 on September 10, 2001.  Those patsies had one thing in common.  They were easily hypnotized and forgot everything they knew about 9/11 everytime they saw Dick Cheney twirling his watch on television.

The Bush/Chenet Administration had wanted to sell the land at ground zero to their buddies who were land speculators and Mosque builders.  Bush/Cheney had also wanted to seize the WMDs in Irag and all the oil in Afganistan and sell it to their fellow conspirators at Haliburtan and Exxon/Mobil.  Unfortunetly, because of poor intelligence there were no WMDs in Iraq or Oil in Afganistan.

It's been rumored that several of our classmates were involved, Bill Moga, John Dawson, and Randy Smith but that has not been confirmed.

Wow...Lots of happenings in everyone's lives!  I've not been on the message forum before, but I'll be changing that going forward.  It's nice to be be in touch with old friends.

As most of are of a slightly right of center in our political persuasion and are proud of our country and the Constitution,  I wanted to pass along an unabashed plug for one of our granddaughters.

Saturday, 9/17, is Constitution Day.  There was a national contest for several categories of patriotic themed  essays, poems and songs.  Our 12 yr. old granddaughter, Emily Keener, won her "junior high school' competition in song writing.  She'll be preforming it, during the pre-recorded program on the 17th.  I don't have any other deatils yet and may not until it's happening.  I do know the Tea Party has been promoting this event in Philadelphia for some time and may have specifics on what channels and times of broadcast are planned.

She has been writing songs and playing guitar and keyboards for a little less than a year and seems to have found her passion.

Emily has been prerforming in front of live audiences at clubs and events for 8 months or so very successfully and has quite a number of gigs booked... but she was a bit concerned about the TV cameras.  I have no doubt she'll do just fine.

BTW...in mid October, Emily will be playing and singing with Mike Huckabee and his band, on his nationally televised show.

Not bad for 12 and almost no formal training.

Take care, all.  Stay safe...we need your votes in the next election.

Hi, Brian,

Congrats regarding your granddaughter!  That is fantastic.  Let us make sure we get the votes for the right person this time instead enduring another 4 yrs. of ..........sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent.  Anymore, when our President is on the tube, I have to turn the channel as I can no longer endure all his yelling of just the same rhetoric.  By the way, the Misus is trying to cut down portion sizes for restaurants (she needs to heed her own words)--guess now it's no more bread sticks at Olive Garden so our kids & grandkids won't get fat.  Has she heard of excercise for the little ones?  Enough.  Good to hear from you Brian.  Hi to Mary for me.

Barb

Bill,

Thanks for the funny Perry joke.  Even though Rick Perry is our Governor I hadn't heard him speak before he decided to run for POTUS.  He has a knack of tripping over his own words, saying some stupid things off the cuff and smirking like George Bush did.   He  attended Texas A&M, where he got C's and D's and joining the Air Force after graduation and became a pilot.  His grades were lower than George Bush's grades but higher than John Flip Flop Kerry's grades or Al Bore's grades.  (Al flunked out of Vanderbilt).  Rick probably wears a cowboy hat, packs a six-shooter and drives a pick-up truck to give himself street cred.  His most famous accomplishment was shooting a coyote while he was jogging and leaving the carcass on the trail to rot.  Everyone down here loves that story.

However as Forest Gump would say, "stupid is as stupid does",  Forty percent of the jobs that were created in the US the last three years were created in Texas.  There are no state ot city income taxes here.   If Odumbo would let us drill we could create tens of thousands of more high paying jobs.  Perry helped pass medical malpractice reform, tort reform (loser pays) and cut taxes and regulations on business.   Business headquarters are flocking here from all over the country.  There are so many rust belt transplants like me down here that I hardly ever hear a good Texas accent.

Texas was an independent country once and could be again someday.   So, If you'all want to relocate you better get down here mighty quick or you may need a passport.

Texas Thom

Oh my:  I am so hungry for a steakburger from Herb's OR Bearden's OR even Rustic's right now! Wow, no one makes a real hamburger like that in Columbus that I've had, but I'm sure it's because memories come along w/that!!!!

Bill: were you referring to MAKING grandkids or KIDS???  I assume that's the reference to "Linda".  Cute joke.  Talk to Larry Gilbert about having sex at our age!!!!  Laughed my head off so hard Sat. nite I was crying. Toots gave her 2 cents worth as well.

Hope Gary continues to be on here as well as Bill.  Thanks Nance for setting Sat. nite up. You are such a sweetheart.  Hope maybe BILL will come into town for a change!  L.

Stupid cancer. We all want a new car, a new phone. A person who has cancer only wants one thing... to survive. I know that a lot of you ''who think you're too cool" probably won't re-post this. A very little amount of my friends will. Put this on your wall in honor of someone who died of cancer, survived, or who is fighting against it now.

Nancy & Bruce: Such a great, great pic of you 2.  Loved it! Had a WONDERFUL time for sure. Bruce, I can only bless you for being such a great husband & pray for your wife as I do Phyllis.  I have seen prayer work (tho not in Fred's & my case w/Tahnee) & yet one thing I know that God is good & He may close a door but open a huge window.  I thought I would die myself when Tahnee Lin died, but my gosh, that allowed me to help others who have lost their children. God told us our lives were not over as I so thought. But I will put your previous paragraph about someone who has cancer.  I would have done ANYTHING to have saved my daughter, as does someone who lives w/cancer & a loved one.

Thanks for a fun, funny & great evening. Bruce, you brought us together once again & I still ask you what we did when we came to my house after the potluck suppers when you & your parents came to our house!!!!!

Please stay in touch. Will pray for your wife, Bruce.

linda, losing a child is the worst thing that can happen, its not suppose to be that way,but it can make you stronger. my brother died before my mom, so,so hard for her. my heart goes out to you for your loss. i sent larry other pictures, hopefully he will get them posted soon, had a great time also. we will all pray for marsha and phyllis-who i just talked to and says she is doing good. bruce does get a good turnout, which brings us all closer.it seems theres always someone new that shows up like roger and john z.i haven't seen them in 40 years.

Hey Nance--glad to hear Phyllis is doing well.  Bruce said Marsha is a fighter & Phyllis seems to be one too.  Our prayers are w/them both.  Nance--you looked great Sat. nite.  Whatever you did w/your hair, keep it that way.  I loved it.  After reading Lin's posting, it brought back all the terrible memories of hearing my niece was gone.  She was my favorite of course & closest to my son Derron.  She was so so bright & could have even been a doctor has she wanted.  What a special person & her smile was cheery to anyone.  I always had to kiss her cheeks as I did when she was a baby (like my own kids) & she would hate it but tolerate it.  Babysat her so many times when Lin & Fred went on trips.  Such a happy little one.  I was able to get Lin through some rough time as I stayed for 2 weeks w/her.

Had a blast last Sat. & wish it could have lasted longer.  Everyone seemed to enjoy it.  Kudos to you for getting it together!

Love,

Barb
