sheesh fred . . .

you sound a little cranky there . . . maybe you should eat more prunes . . .then you could go on face-book and do on-line stool analysis . . . . which is pretty much what that whole thing seems to be anyway . . .

gimme a call on that rotary dial phone of yours  & we can talk about it . . .

Bill,

I finally traded in my old black Ohio Bell rotary land line telephone and Edison 1 number and got one of those new fangled cell phones.  My seven year old grandson showed me how to compose text messages.  It's a lot of fun but I keep getting mysterious letters sent to me.  Luckily I was a cryptographer in the military so I can decipher these puzzles.

LMFAO  =  Looky Moga Fred Always Outfront

LOL  =  Left Out Liberals

U R A POS  =  Upstanding Reasonable And Perfectly Outstanding Senior

How am I doing so far, Bill?

"We need to jump start the economy."

Rest assured The Metaphorically Challenged-in-Chief will bring out his jumper cables again.  However I learned when I was 16 that after you jump start a car a few times, it was a good idea to look elsewhere for the problem.  So if I was The Golfer-in-Chief's speechwriter I would have the following downloaded to his teleprompter:

"We have tried jump starting the economy several times and it didn't work.  So I directed the Treasury Secretary to buy a battery and check the alternator.  Joe Biden is behind the wheel and Ben Bernanke is driving the tow truck.  If that doesn't get the car out of the ditch we will all get behind it and push.  So don't worry we will do all that after I play a couple rounds of golf and get back from Martha's Vineyard. "

"Last year was the warmest year on record."

Al Gore and the Warmers like to screech that last year was the warmest year on record but they don't mention that their puny records only go back 130 years.  Earth's climate actually goes back 4.5 billion years and the climate has been a lot warmer and a lot colder than now.  Three hundred million years ago the atmosphere had CO2 levels of 7000 ppm which is 20 times current levels and there was no run away global warming.  Even those fundamentalist Christians who believe that the earth is only 6000 years old would laugh at the Warmer's claim that the earth's climate is only 130 years old.

So don't believe those Chicken Little Warmer propagandists.  The sky is not falling and as we say in Texas, "Drill baby drill."

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Hi Guys:  My Mr. Thomas, are you a Democrat?  I wasn't sure!  Well, luckily I agree w/you.  Wish I could have had as many vacations, but unfortunately, we didn't have the money OR the time off!  My husband does play golf every Sat., but he's just running a business, not the whole country!!

Nancy:  Barb & I will be there.  And I spoke w/Marcia Pullin (Bruder) & she will be here.  Her mother passed away & she is free to travel more now.  Sally Willey (Johnson) I believe is coming as well.  She hasn't committed totally, but I think she will come.  You can contact her at Sally.Johnson@huntington.com

I see Mr. Moga (my high school secret crush--one of many) has arrived on this site.  Hope you make it to one of these reunions, Billy!  Would be good to touch base w/people we haven't seen for sooooo long.

Phyllis, I pray you will beat this again.  You are a fighter, so go for it.  Love you & pray for you.

I have stayed there before on several ocassions and it is quite nice for the money. I reserved at $54.99 + tax. Of course I used the "Gummer Discount" There phone number is (440)892-7920.........Check it out!

Bruce:  I think we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, which was really nice. (Barb says it was the Hampton Inn when I spoke w/her.  Sorry.  But it was quite nice!)   Price wasn't that low however.  This will be so much fun.  It seems to grow as each reunion happens.  Hope Gillespie comes, too.  Hadn't seen him in soooo many yrs.  Anyone who lives in R.R. or nearby has no excuse if Marcia is coming up from the south!!

I tell you, Fred, you crack me up.  And since we are staunch Repubs, we (my husband  & I) enjoy your humor.  We work w/a couple who LOVE the current administration.  Wait till they see the damage done yrs. from now & what their health care looks like.  Ours has already been affected. One doctor in Fla. will only take cash.  Won't submit insur., doesn't take Medicare, etc.  Not cranky, Bill--just wondering when it will all end & how.  We're too old for healthcare to go thru these changes.  I think we're in the "Twilight Years" as they say!!!

The Ugly Truth

Russell Means, the great Native American leader and movie star is on his last legs.  As for Indian leaders though I prefer Geronimo, Sitting Bull and Chingachgook.  Redskins were very brave but not very good fighters as they lost almost every single battle and in the end the war.  I guess it would be PC to feel guilty about all that, but I for one am glad that we Pale Faces won.  My house may be built on Indian bones.

Furthermore should we feel guilty about our military fire bombing Dresden and burning 100,000 people alive?  How about vaporizing babies at Nagasaki and Hiroshima?  General Curtis Lemay ordered the bombing of 55 Japanes cities before we even had the A-Bomb.

Incidently, World War II was the last war we actually won.  If we don't have the stomach for that kind of slaughter I doubt if we will ever prevail again.  That's the ugly truth.
