There once was a religious young woman who went to Confession. Upon entering the confessional, she said, 'Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.'

The priest said, 'Confess your sins and be forgiven.'

The young woman said, 'Last night my boyfriend made mad passionate love to me seven times.'

The priest thought long and hard and then said, 'Squeeze seven lemons into a glass and then drink the juice.'

The young woman asked, 'Will this cleanse me of my sins?'

The priest said, 'No, but it will wipe that smile off of your face.'

Hey John!!

I really hope you can make it on the 15th at Herbs (6:30 pm)!  I'll buy your first two Budwisers out of my Social Security, so, don't let that prescription cost stop you!  See you there, hopefully!

It's gonna be a party!

John,

I hear you have enjoyed some beautiful weather in Northeast Ohio over the past few days!

Al, and the rest of the Forum Dwellers - Shari and I chatted and decided that 6:30 pm (rather than 7:00) might get us a bigger table saved and (obviously) an earlier start.  So it's officially a 6:30 start time on Friday night.

John, That's a great story.  We need to remember that if there are large drug expenses.  Very often, something CAN be done!  Thanks for sharing!

I know we can all relate to this:

Jeff Foxworthy on Ohio :    All I have to say is "Go Bucks!"    You might be from Ohio (pronounced O-hi-uh), if:  1. You think all Pro football teams are supposed to wear orange!  2.   You know all the 4 seasons: winter, still winter, almost winter    and construction.        3.  You live less than 30 miles from some college or university.        4.  You know what a buckeye really is, and have a recipe for    candied ones.        5.  "Toward the lake" means "north" and "toward the river" means    "south."        6.  You know if other Ohioans are from southern or northern Ohio as    soon as they open their mouths.        7.  You can spell words like Cuyahoga, Olentangy, Bellefontaine,  Tuscarawas, Wapakoneta and you know which letter is doubled in   Cincinnati .      8.  "Vacation! " means spending a day at Cedar Point in the summer  and deer hunting in the fall.        9.  You measure distance in minutes    10.  Your school classes were canceled because of cold.        11.  Your school classes were canceled because of heat.        12.  You've had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.        13.  You know what should be knee-high by the Fourth of July.        14.  You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. For  example:    "Where's my coat at?"        15.  You install security lights on your house and garage and leave    both unlocked.        16.  You think of the major four food groups as corn, pork, beer,  and Jell-O salad with marshmallows.        17.  You carry jumper cables in your car.        18.  You know what 'pop' is.        19.  You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.        20.  Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled  with snow. (Amen!)        21.  You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightgown.        22.  The local paper covers national and international headlines on  one page but requires six pages for sports

During the Cambrian Era from about 342 to 288 million years ago CO2 levels in the atmosphere ranged from 3500 to 7000 ppm and yet global temperatures stayed fairly constant at around 72 degrees F.  CO2 levels now are about 380 ppm  and we actually live in a time of CO2 depletion.  There is apparently no relationship between CO2 levels and global temperatures.

Acronymn World

Are acronymns invented to abbreviate, educate or obfuscate?  I had to learn hundreds of them as an electronic technician and sometimes the same set of letters could mean two different things.  I refuse to use them myself and I would rather type out the whole phrase.  Once in awhile one really stumps me like LOL.  Here are some possible meanings:

Latitude or Longitude      menu item on global positioning device

Lease on Life                What you say to someone coming out of the hospital

Lean on Lever              Gas pump instruction

Lion on Leash              Burgler beware

Letter of Liquidation      Bankruptcy letter

Liter of Liquor             My daily booze order

Look out Loser, Limit of Liability, Loan ont Limo, Life of Longevity, Let owls lay, Lost on Layover

I think  that LOL actually means Loads of Luck.  What do you think it means?

Tell Phyllis hello from me too!!!

Had a note from Patrick MacAllister in Afganistan today!  Here's what our soldiers are doing for 'fun' there.

2010 Mogadishu Mile 25K Race  That's Patrick running in the sunglasses at the 14K mark.  The rest of the runners are behind and maybe in front of him.  The geared up soldiers are on duty.  2nd photo was right before the race started.

Please keep them in your prayers/meditations/thoughts!

ellen, god love our soldiers and they are in my prayers, always.  john, why the clinic doesn't forward these cards is beyond me, and i did tell her you were afraid it would be sent back to you. we spent sunday with her-linda m.,carol w. and had a wonderful visit. so much fun and a beautiful day besides and the browns won-what more could we ask for. phy looks great-no hair, but a browns hat on, was a good day for her.  she laughed,we laughed and i'm telling you all -it was great. her blood counts are down alittle, but she goes in every week to have them checked. carol  was showing her how to knit a hat {winter} for her head, all of us "girls" took food,  a few of her kids were there and ate with us.i won't forget this day in along time-another good memory of all of our rrhs friendships. we are so lucky to have it after all these years. nancy

ps. tell i mentioned a got my first tattoo a balloon dog with puppy love underneath it-now's here's a question for you who sang puppy love the first time and who made it even more popular the second time it was recorded? remember were never to old to do things, though i have to admit my son and grandkids were pretty surprised, because i don't do thing like this-i'm just a rebel at my age-but no body piercing-never.

Nancy, I knew Paul Anka, but I don't know who else recorded it... We are all waiting for a picture of your new Tattoo!

UPDATED:

"Puppy Love" is a popular song written by Paul Anka in 1960 for Annette Funicello, whom he was dating at the time. Anka's version reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart[3] and #33 on the UK singles chart.

Twelve years later it was revived by Donny Osmond, who took it to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the UK singles chart for five weeks in July 1972. The song has also been covered by British pop group S Club Juniors.

On March 15, 1972, D.J. Robert W. Morgan played the Donny Osmond version for 90 minutes straight on KHJ in Los Angeles. LAPD mistakenly raided the station studios after receiving numerous calls from listeners. Confused, the officers left without making any arrests.[7

larry-you are so good to follow up with my puppy love-here's my tattoo-it took my 64 years to do it and that's my song-i love it. now for some other news-i torn  something behind my knee when i went to see phyl. now i'm in a wrap around brace, from ankle to above my knee, need another mri and may be off work for at least amonth. i'm on 2 med.s for pain, have a walker-this is no fun.  so think about me everyone-i'm not a good patient. nancy

My antenna just went up when I sensed someone writing about Annette Funicello.  I remember watching that stupid Mickey Mouse Club on TV everyday just to catch a glimpse of her and to see if she had changed in any way, if you know what I mean.  Such is the one track,  one dimensional, unidirectional vector of the adolescent mind.

Fred, you are SO RIGHT!  She was one of my early crushes, not in small measure due to the points that you were referring to as well.

She seems to be staring right at me .....

Tim Considine, Nancy.  He also played one of the Hardy Boys along with Tommy Kirk.  He's had a good career starting with the MMC.  Mostly been a writer.  I read he was the FIRST teenage hearthrob.  He was definitely that!

BTW......some great news.  Patrick MacAllister is back in Germany with his family!!!  We are all glad he is out of harm's way......but we keep all the troops in our thoughts and prayers and meditations.....
