barb and lyn, i think you must have senior moments that you can't remember these guys wanting to go out with you, i think you went out everyweekend, you just forgot. cliff is funning-he does just sit there taking it all in-probably thinking i was in this  rrhs class-what a bunch of nuts they are. as far as the popular kids-where are they for these "mini" reunions, don't they count. i hope we have a huge turnout that weekend.

I hated high school too and yet I loved it at the same time.  At times I felt like one of the "popular" kids and at other times I felt like an outcast.  I fell in love and had my heart broken many times.  I felt like a hero one week and the goat the next.  I learned some fascinating things in class and yet I spent hours in class bored to tears.  I call high school the "Agony and the Ectasy", just like a woman.  I hated it but I wouldn't trade one moment of my days at Rocky River High School.

Oh my gosh, Bruce, you are so funny!  Why is that a fantasy of guys to have twins? I was too prudish in high school to do anything!  I just remember going w/Paul Hamilton in 6th grade. He gave me a half heart. Then I think he moved away going into 7th grade. I went w/Guy Cartwright all 7th grade, when he proceeded to dump me for Margie Seelbach. Broke my heart. Barb had gone w/John Zahnow, & he did the same thing to her. So, what did Margie have that I didn't? All right, I already know the answer & why he took up w/her!  So, I guess a broken heart finally mends.  You think you'll die, but you never do.  It just made it harder to exist when you sought male companionship outside of the school.  Dated a couple St. Ed's guys, Lakewood guys, but would have preferred staying in my own school.  Oh well, I moved on to college & loved knowing no one.  You had a clean slate!

My sister, Judy, had her 50th reunion this summer & they had a great time.  She saw people she hadn't seen in so many yrs. That will be great too.  But the "Lizard" would be so fun if a ton of people came too.  I will see if Sally Willey Johnson can come. She lives almost to W. Va. I think. But I will contact her.   Linda

Before I forget, Fred, how the heck did you never think you could date Barb or me???  Did you ever ask me?  Noooo.  Aaaaah, youth.  So many hormones, so many thoughts, all bottled up in heads that never take time to take the step to establish new relationships! It was a no-no for girls to ask boys out, remember?  Except for the "Kick-Off" dance, which always was a bummer when guys you wanted to ask were ALWAYS taken!  Maybe we can dance now, right?  Hey, Lar, that's a great picture of you!!   L

Mike and I got to visit with "Da Gouch" today.  Soooo fun!  And Bob Weist!!!  And  lunch with another long-time friend (St Eds).  It's been too long!

Ellen and Mike - what a great photo.  As for the rest of you, stop your fantasizing about the Peate Twins (who I believe are now about 65 years old).

Oh, yeah - so am I......      Well, anyway, I'm sorry I missed the Saturday at Herb's.

John.

If I do come up to Cleveland you should be aware that I have beefed up since high school.  I'm up to 225 pounds of solid muscle now.  I could take you out to the football field, stand your ass up on the 2 man sled and show you some real blocking and tackling.

But I digress.  I remember that practicing football with full equipment in 90 degree heat, conjugating irregular Latin verbs and solving quadratic equations were easy compared with another problem that kept popping up at embarassing times in high school.  That was a real problem then that I wish I had now.  If it did pop up now I would celebrate and not waste any of them.  Perspective is everything.

Well, I just got a note from Sally Willey Johnson, so she's coming up the 11th. We're just going to bunk at a hotel somewhere. A slumber party I guess! Guys coming to crash are you???  At 65, you probably couldn't find your way, right?

John mentioned go Bucks. Every year for the past 4 or 5 yrs. at Feridean (asst. living) we have had the OSU cheerleaders, the alumni band and Brutus come to entertain our residents for a pep rally the week before the 1st game.  The residents LOVED it, and the rally grew from about 50 people to almost 400!  Everyone seemed to know about it.  Problem is, we just found out they got a new cheerleading advisor this year, so she dumped Feridean as a place for the cheerleaders to come; the alumni band increased their rate to $800 for 1 hr. of playing, and Brutus comes w/the cheerleaders!  What a shame.  They would wander thru the parking lot doing the best ScriptOhio they could, residents w/walkers & wheelchairs, walking as best they could or being pushed, children from toddlers to teenagers participating.  It was quite a satisfying sight for Fred & me.  We had hot dogs, pop, etc. & everything was a "buck"!  Sad we can't do it anymore, but it was also very stressful for us as well!  Maybe you "elderly" football players could come down & dress as the cheerleaders!  Now that would be entertaining!!!!  Problem is, we're not far from being the ones in the parking lot w/walkers & wheelchairs!

Have to get to work.  I have cut my days to 2 a week, which is great.  But Friday is my day of work.

The reason I get along well with my grandkids is that I understand them and deal with them on their level.  We play hide-and-seek, make forts out of sofas and blankets and design jet fighters and cruise ships on paper.  I am AKA the "tickle monster".  I try to get them to use their imaginations so they each designed birthday cards for their mom.  I also made a project for them to draw a way to plug the oil leak in the Gulf.  Two of them had an elaborate series of pipes and shi[s while the third grandson just drew a huge cork sticking out of the blown out well head.  It's fun to be 8 years old again.

When I post on this site I try to imagine that I am 16 years old again which is easy when dealing with people like John, Randy and Bruce who never really grew up and are much like Peter Pan.

Hey, Nance:  Sally Willey Johnson is coming.  Also, Marcia Pullin said she's giving serious consideration to coming.  She is taking care of her mom, so she has to make arrangments.  I hope for sure she comes.  It would be great to see her.  Take care.  L

This board just gets better and BETTER!!

Did I say "COUNT ME IN!!" yet for the Winking Lizard?  We'll be there!

Ummm...  Linda, I need the  address for that "slumber party"!  Can't wait to see Salley Willie!  Class of '63 girls don't get older.  They just get better!

And ladies, please do not take offense regarding the fantasies you hear about here.  For some of us, that's all they have left!

Bruce, I am really looking forward to seeing you.  I was curious about what you've been doing, so, I did a background check.  There are a number of things here I want to ask you about!  Especially that thing with the monkey....

Ellen, it was great to see you (again) at Huron!  Nice pics.  Who is the fat guy in the blue shirt?  You put on a hell of a feed!

John, all I know is you would make a far better cheerleader than I would!  At least you know the uniform fits!  Yes, I know you had it custom-made!

The 11th is going to be GOOD!  See y'all there!

Oh my, all of you seem out of control.  Is it raging hormones again?  Sally Willey is spelled "Willey" not Willie.  If only we could do a crash slumber party at Susie Sanders.  That seems to be where it was in h.s.  At Kent State, Llinda & I were in the "nunnery" due to our father, but one night we EVEN had a "panty raid."  It was SO..... exciting.  Of course we all had to choose the best of our panties to throw!!!  The 11th will be great & hopefully more & more people will join in the fun.  Am trying to talk Pat Reali into coming as I know he has some very funny stories from h.s.  Well, since I am one of the few that works, I will be signing off and going to bed.  See you soon.  Fred, you need to fly up & join the crew!!!

OK...wow..you see what happens when I go up to the Cabin in the White Mountains for a few days??? You bad boy's and girls....Let me see if I can comment on all the questions presented. Nancy, The time at the "Lizard" was set at 6:00pm start time.  How come the women of RRHS look even better now then they did in High School? I have more "Chins" than a Chinese phone book and a body like a dried up wine goard.... and Fred..you were the one who thought "Peter Pan" was a wash basin in a cat house!!!   Anyway...moving right along..I...as well..have secured a room at the Extended Stay on Clemens Rd. not wanting to make the long drive back to Wadsworth where I will be staying for two weeks.  As for me....I have mixed a little "Nitros" in to my oxygen bottle and have found a way to wear two Depends at once...and have installed a set of "Slicks" on my "Hover-Round"...so I am ready for what ever might come my way.

As I look back on what I have written, I may have gone over the top a little. But that last bag of "Herb" that Fred sent me was AWESOME !...helps my creative writing....Oh..and Nancy...I will probably have four or five folks that did not graduate with us and some who didn't even go to RRHS...Sounds like the "Twins" are getting out of control....possibly they need a chaperone... I LOVE YOU GUY"S ...LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!!!

Bruce - For sure, the women of 63 are a fine bunch.  I wonder of they think the same of us?  We can only hope for lowered expectations!  That's the secret of happiness, you know!

Just got back from our Caribbean cruise and the neighbors said that there was some big gorilla looking guy jumping from tree to tree shouting my name.  They didn't know whether to call animal control or the men in white coats.  Luckily he scampered away on all fours.

I'll post some photos later.  When we went snorkling I took a picture of a parrot fish that looks like John Dawson.

Has anyone talked to Janet Soros Ravenstine?  She should be able to come to our mini reunion. Would love to see her as well.  Sounds like John & Fred had an ape of a time!  You big gorillas you!!  Are you coming up Fred?  Those gates don't just swing one way you know!  You can go out of them too!!!  OK, gotta do some ironing. Yes I still iron & actually enjoy it. I like seeing my husband in clothes that are nice & pressed.  Just a freaky side of me I guess!  Later. L.
