The water we send will have to stop at the stupid station and get filled up with stupid. Othewise the people in Texas might wake up and find everything is not what it seems.

Randy and John,

We have a big thirst down here in Texas so I'm sure that you won't mind is we drain Lake Erie and pipe it down here. We'll send you a little black gold from our next gusher as payment.

Those wooden post cards would routinely get jammed in our automated equipment and it took a good set of needle nose pliers to pull them out of the machine. They met all the mail standards except flexibility and they couldn't make sharp turns at nine letters a second. So when my fellow technicians went on vacation what do you think they would send to us back at the shop? You guessed it, wooden post cards reading, "The weather is fine, wish you were here." What a bunch of ass clowns I used to work with.

John and Randy,

You guys need to get out more. Even though you have been living like hermits up in the Buckeye State maybe you need to take a long trip to Toledo or Astabula and go to the tourist gift shop. Right next to the polished rocks and jack knives you will see the wooden post cards. Mail a few to yourselves and see if they make it or get stuck in the postal equipment.

Ya Right I'll go today. Maybe I'll send you a Valentines card. Let me know when you get it.

Even blind squirels find a nut sometimes. Which reminds me of Randy and John stating the obvious that hardly anyone mails postcards anymore. Hard copy mail is going the way of the horse and buggy and so is the post office. It will be replaced by e-mail, direct deposits, electronic transfers and soft copies. Nothing will stop it but my retirement checks will come as long as the federal government can print money.

John,

I don't have a debit card but I do have several credit cards that I pay the balamce on every month. I guess with auto bill pay, on-line banking, electronic transfers and credit cards that I am almost completely cashless, except for the gold bars of course. I feel that with all these cash free transaction that I actually have more control over my finances than ever.

A fever is your bodies way of fighting a virus or bacteria. Why then would you take medicine to suppress a fever?

When you cough to expel fluid from your lungs, why would you take medicine to suppress the cough? You could drown in that fluid.

When you twist your ankle or get hit in the head with a golf ball and a swelling appears as a way for your body to heal the injury, why would you put ice on the swelling?

Mucous forms to kill germs, let it drip.

A scab is natures way of healing a wound. Why put a bandage on it?

I have doctors in my own family who might disagree with me but I am right even when I am wrong.

Nice standard medical textbook propaganda rant, John. Too bad you didn't go to medical school because you could then peddle that bunch of leaches and snake oil to your patients.

My MD son had some offers to kick the football after high school but decided on a chemistry scholarship instead and I'm glad he did. It must be defficult to be a full time football player and full time student at the same time. I don't even like work study.

Here is my reasoning: Long before we had doctors our bodies evolved to fight diseases on their own. I learned that from watching the 1954 version of "The War of the Worlds." Those who couldn't died and we all are related to people who survived things like measles. It's what Darwin called "survival of the fittest." Fevers are natural defenses against those diseases. The same with swellings, scabs, mucous, and coughs. People survived before doctors and will survive with their help and sometimes despite their "help".

It sounds like your the one with the snake oil. I might be mistaken but I thought doctors have been around as long as the ladies of the evening. You need to spend more time in front of the boob tube (The Learning Channel) and less time drinking the water.

During Palin's recent tea party speech a close up showed that she wrote some notes on her hand. Was that cheating? It reminded me that in high school I wrote a few notes on my hands before tests. By the time I wrote the notes, I usually had them memorized anyway. It was like a security blanket. I'm sure that none of you guys ever did that. But one of our classmates thought he was clever printed a bunch of notes on the bottom of his shoe because there was more room than his hand. The punch line was when he was taking the test he looked at the bottom of his shoe and discovered that all the notes were rubbed off as he walked to the test.

Spring is coming soon!

What kind of car-oriented things are coming up that would be fun? (Not necessarily local). How about a class of '63, cross-country, automotive scavenger hunt?

How about a '63 caravan to Daytona for Spring Break? :-)

Saw the most beautiful 1950 Pontiac on the street yesterday. The weather on the Oregon Coast is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and it brings them out. Soon the cruises will begin! Stay tooned!

Ellen,

I got to drive my dad's 1955 Ford Thunderbird sometimes in high school. It was a two seater, automatic, hard top convertible. The top could be unclipped and just set aside. Needless to say I felt like I was "The King of the World" when I drove it. One idysyncracy with it was that it was a gas hog and had a tendancy to run out of gas on an eigth of a tank showing. So for a 16 year old who used to put $1.00 worth of gas at a time in the tank, I spent many times walking to the gas station for a can of gas.

Fred---in that car you were The King of the World!!! Too bad you didn't have the gold to go with the title!!! Kings shouldn't have to walk............

Randy and Bruce---It's a long way to go to what's posted on that website!!! Guess that's what makes it 'cruisin''!!

Ellen,

A King without his gold is a pitiful character. Is he like an Emperor with no clothes?

Fred---He might be an Emperor who can't afford 'new' clothes---he gets to keep the old ones.

Beautiful sunny weather today here on the Gulf Coast. 65 degees with a slight breeze. I was riding my bike in shorts and a tee shirt. Guess I'll go home and count my gold again.
