Fred Thomas' Son Makes the News!

Sugar Land resident William Thomas has spent the last few months preparing for a 180  mile trek across the Texas Hill Country. The 43 year old engineer, father, and cycling enthusiast is an annual rider in the BP MS 150.
Since 2009 William has joined over 13,000 cyclists and 3,500 volunteers for the two-day journey that starts in Houston and ends in Austin.

Everyone has a different reason for riding in the BP MS 150, but for William it’s the satisfaction of meeting a personal challenge and helping a good cause.

“I like doing things that accomplishes multiple goals, if I can volunteer my time and raise awareness and challenge myself, that is my goal,” said Thomas.”

The ride benefits research for Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic auto-immune disease that affects the central nervous system.

That is awesome, Fred!

The BPMS150 is a really big deal; it raised over $20 million last year.  You can support Fred's son on the BPMS150 web site.

The Stroll - Shake Rattle and Roll - Tequila - Fever - La Bamba - Chances Are- Till There was You -At the Hop-Beyond the Sea-Rock Around the Clock

A wild time with my   Pianist-Vocalist (young and hot) - very similar to my classmates - each and everyone of you -Guitar-Drums-Bass - Woodwind player (clarinet, flute, soprano, alto, tenor), trumpet, trombone - I will act as MC and play a few hand drums/tambourine/toys  = usually mucho $$$ are raised for the ISO - wish you could all be there -  BE THERE OR BE SQUARE

I have worn a number of different hats and titles in my life.  One of the first was when I was promoted to lieutenant on our 6th grade safety patrol.  Later I was elected to vice president of our junior class.  I was the steward at my college fraternity.  I turned down the chance to be a warrant officer helicopter pilor and 2nd lieutenant in the infantry when I was in the Army.  I did achieve the rank of staff sergeant though.  I became a husband and father after that.  And I was a soccer coach, referee, swim team booster treasurer and PTA member later.

But wait, here comes my fan club now, Ethan, Collin, Warren, Brennan and Claire.  "Hey grandpa!!"  That's the best title of all.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes.  Having another birthday is a lot better than the alternative.

I am going to spend the evening like last night eating popcorn, drinking root beer and enjoying the Baltimore riots on television.  The mayhem  is way better than reality TV.  The only mystery at this point is which white guy will get blamed for this.  HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!

Here's a belated wish, Fred.  Was traveling home from Fla., so didn't have computer.  I don't carry one as I have an archaic phone.  Having a hard time getting into the new electronics!  I will be forced into it when I get a new phone in a yr.  Hope you had a great day w/family!

Sometimes I try to talk with that young fool.  Grow up, you are almost an adult, start acting like a man.  Tell Barb what you think.  Do your homework.  Work harder.  If you want a car you will have to work for it.  But that young man is gone now and all that remains is this old fool.

They weren't in my pockets.  Suddenly I realized I must have left them in  the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot.  My wife has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car's ignition.  She's  afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I  realized she was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the  police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the  car, and  that it had been stolen.

Then  I made the most difficult call of all to my wife:"I  left my keys in the car and it's been stolen."

There  was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then  I heard her voice."Are you kidding me?"  she barked, "I  dropped you off!"

Embarrassed, I said, "Well,  come and get me."

She  retorted,"I will,  as soon as I convince this cop that I didn't steal your darn car!"

Welcome to the golden  years...

Buddy,

I can relate to that in a weird way. My wife and I both have 2014 Dodge Dart SXTs. Only difference is hers is dark blue, and mine is white. Sometimes I will take her car to the store and when I come out I am getting all freaked out because I can't find my car, the white one. So now I am holding the key fob up in the air and am frantically pressing the Emergency button to set the horn off....then ,and only then do I realize as I approach the car that it is her BLUE Dart.       Yes, and they call these the Golden Years. The only thing golden at this age is our urine sample !!

I was a customer in a small shop and my bill came to $2.12.  I gave the lady $2.25 and she started to stare off into space.  I could see that she was struggling so I said, "you owe me 13 cents."  She said, "thanks" and counted out the change.  "I majored in math", I offered.  She said, "wow, really, where at".  "Kensington", I said.  "You probably haven't heard of it.

I want a cheeseburger........looks yummy!  All the nights after football games walking there......Remember also ordering an orange freeze in high school when they started making us order something instead of just getting a glass of ice water!  Don't know if they still have orange freeze or not.  Years since I've been there.
