Ellen, that was really cute!  Alan, by "put back," did you mean "flunk?"  I thought you were out of place at the 50th reunion since you were doing a different dance than I was.  I had a good time that night dancing with you though!

Wow...no Holiday photos at our house.  My husband was hospitalized w/severe Crohn's attach, which has been in remission for 30 yrs.  What a shock!   Then I had a 2nd back surgery in Nov, plus a 3rd procedure to drain a gallon of fluid off my spine!  Spent 4 mo. flat on my back.  Can you say weight gain???  Not so great, but NOW we are in Fla.  Arrived Wed. the 7th after Barb came up for 3 wks. to take care of her blob of a sister!!!  Anyway, this warm weather has made my body feel sooo much better after getting up at 2:30 to get to the airport so I could get a wheelchair & be ready to get on plane by 20 of 6 a.m.!  We were so tired after that trip, we slept all afternoon once we arrived.  Barb was a God send, as Fred finally left the week before New Year's to drive the dog down.  I wasn't up to riding down in a car that far.  Hope you all had wonderful Holidays & are able to keep warm.  My hand skin & fingers have been cracked from the cold for 2 wks. Just now healing a bit!  But I remember walking to school in that cold weather when we were kids & in hi school.  Several moms were taking their kids every day & would beep their horn, wave, & leave us to walk in the sub-zero weather!  Our mom worked, so we walked.  But, warm weather will be here soon!  2 mo. for a thaw anyway.

Nancy:  Sooo glad your surgery is over & you are healing.  I stilll get tired as well, but walking is now possible for me again.  Holly: Hope you are back to your old self as well!!  Mickey: Thanks for the well wishes & prayers.

Hey Buddy:  I lost your phone no. but know you & your wife are down here. My cell is 614-204-2598.  My husband is an avid golfer as well!  Would love to see you & your wife.   Linda

Linda:  The fun just never stops for you all!!!  Glad you and hubby are on the road to recovery and that Barbie was able to assist.  Now it's time to GET WELL and enjoy that Florida sunshine when it returns.  Still....warmer than Cleveland these days!   Brrrrrrrrrrrr.....all you northern folks stay in next to the fire and sip some hot tea!

Still....could be worse?  I remember Laramie, Wyoming at UW at 50 below----that's actual 50 below, not wind chill.  Those were interesting times not poking noses out the door and praying the ancient heating system in the 2nd oldest dorm on campus didn't give out!

Thanks to those of you who have sent in photos for the Holiday Photo Contest.  They are great pictures!  We all enjoy pictures of you and your family being cute, silly or beautiful!!!  You still have time to enter your holiday photos, so please do!  Remember, it's more about sharing because they are all winners!

Nancy:  You look wonderful & hope you are healing well.  I finally feel better now that I am in Fla. where it's warmer.  Cold weather (it was 0 when we left) was really affecting my back & hips.  The worst right now is I have nerve damage & back of left leg & left foot are totally numb.  It makes walking difficult & sometimes as Al G. knows & joked, I lose a shoe if they are not tie shoes!  There go all the cut shoes I have in my closet that my husband doesn't understand why I have so many!!  Maybe the feeling will come back.  He is finally feeling better & has put on 20 of the 25 lbs. he lost.  Golfs 2 times/wk. now & gaining strength.  He quit smoking for 4 mo. & damn,he went back to it down here.  Makes me so upset!  Our friends smoke & he just joined right in.

Al, you are finally alive!  Haven't heard from you for a long time.  Ellen...the site is great so thanks for keeping it going.  Gotta go for a walk which is so difficult but I must force myself.

Linda,

Maybe you can get him to try an e-cig.  I have not had a real cigarette in over a year.  While it not "quitting", it is way better than cigarettes, in that there is no toxic cocktail of tar.  And, remind him that he can smoke an e-cig almost anywhere!

Keep walking.  I need to do that too, which is tough when there is ice everywhere.

Ellen, thanks for doing 98% of the work on this site.  You have some great ideas!  Thank heavens Larry did all the front-end work!

Alan

Hey, Al, what I do for walking on the ice: get yourself some "Yak Traks" for your shoes and use a ski pole.

Then get a "Fitbit" that will monitor your steps and mileage, and other things. It gives me the goals and disapline to exercise daily.

Good deal on the smoking.

Cheers,

Clark

Does any woman remember Evening in Paris perfume.  It was this cheap stuff you could buy at Kresge's five & dime store.  You could also get sodas there after buying your cheap perfume!  My older sister had a best friend named Barb Schnore (spellling!) who wore White Shoulders perfume & I vowed when I got old enough I would buy it!  I still wear it sometimes today!

Ellen/Al you have done a great job on the website.  Keeping it going is so great.

Al, I have mentioned that E-cig & he is way against it.  He went from having 3/day after having quit for those 4 mo.  Now he smokes on the golf course; in the car; etc.  It is so disappointing but I can't do a thing about it.  He was so, so sick & I thought he would quit for good, but you can't make someone do what they don't want to.

Nancy, so glad you are getting stronger & you really look great.    I am as well, albeit it is taking longer than I thought. My left leg had atrophied & now I must build it up.  That is the hard part as you have to FORCE yourself to do it.  Therapy is helping, but I HATE going every time.  They push you & I know I need that, but YUK!!!!  I have lost 11 lbs. over all of this, so that has been good!

Holly, am hoping you feel strong & well.  It was so fun hanging w/you at the 50th & reminisciing over things.  And haven't heard from Sally since the 50th.  Have tried to contact her, but no answer.  Will keep trying!

Barb & I are now enjoying being together in Fla.   She had to work so hard to do everything for me when we were together in Westerville.  But sisters do that!

I remember Evening in Paris and White Shoulders.  However, Shalimar and Chantilly were my choices in scents.  They are both still out there.  Shalimar is quite expensive but Chantilly much less so.

As Al said, we credit Larry with paving the way on this website with all his hard work for several years.  He's made it easy and is still very helpful.

Glad our resident twins and family member are well on the road to recovery.  Now...just stay that way!

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAV HOLIDAY PHOTO.  THERE ARE SO MANY CUTE ONES---especially those sleeping!  wink

Clark,

Thanks for the tip on the YakTrax.  I had never heard of those!  I can see how they would make winter walking a lot safer!  They have them on Ebay and Amazon!  Thanks again.
