Oh my.....Ellen you have come up with some unbelievable articles!  Was are class really that bad?  I don't think so.  Whom in our class would possibly have done this?  I remember the bra on the flag pole and believe perhaps Kent Nehoda might have done that?  Not sure.

Our class wasn't bad.  Our class was champion at EVERYTHING we did!

Of course our class wasn't bad!  Everyone had a good time and look how insignificant pranks were back then.

I guess that O'Brock, Mason and Schach didn't "come from a good family background", and "had no goals in life".

Actually my brother and friends hung a '65 sheet on the railroad trestle over the river. They had to time it right so as to not be out there when a train came.

Was it Mr. Bennett that had the goal in life to be with Miss McKee or was that someone else?  LOL

Wow, I was WAY too shy to even think of doing anything but walking straight ahead w/my eyes looking down, just getting to my next class!  My husband was a bad boy & I loved it when we were 16 & he did those things, & especially thatm Dad didn't like him & said he wouldn't amount to anything.  He & his best friend took Dan's mom's car, went to Earl Scheib (remember him?) & had the car painted for $19.99 & took off for the GREAT ADVENTURE!  They had all points bulletins out for them.  They were in N. Carolina, peeling potatoes up in the hills to get food money!  Needless to say, I didn't see him for awhile when they found the 2 of them!!  What's really great though, is Daddy ignored him for yrs..  But when he graduated from college, he gave him a note that said, "this is good for your first business suit.  Thanks for proving me wrong!"  He loved him after that! Daddy was just looking out after me.  But I LOVED the way Fred did daring things that I wouldn't EVER even think of.  Great stories.  Never guessed that O'Brock, Schach & Mason were what people THOUGHT was being a bad boy. Or that flying a bra on the flag pole was bad!  Look at kids today!!!

Okay, so for absolutely NO reason, I have been in agony &  in E.R. twice this past week.  Turns out I have a severly herniated disk at the base of my spine.   I never fell, or slipped or even hurt my back in any way as I did a couple times.  So myy left leg is now numb down thru my foot.  The pain of course subsided because I have no feeling!  I was rolling & crying which I NEVER do as I have a high threshold of pain.  At one point I remember asking Fred to saw my leg off!  Anyway, surgery this Thur at 7 a.m. so pray this solves the hip & leg problem I have had for 6 mo.  Just thankful for neurosurgeon finally figuring out what it was!!!!  He's the best but people come from everywhere to see him here in Westerville.  One lady had driven from W. Virginia.  You wait 3-4 mo. to get in to see him.  Thank GOD that he now knows Fred/me & I know his secretary who will get me in.  Sad you have to learn how to work the system to get decent healthcare.  Should be good for Oct.  I am planning to come, Nancy!

Thom Duke, who recently passed away, had no interest in a relationship with any woman, other than

a friendship.

So, let's stop these rumors. Let a good man RIP!

Gosh, I was merely thinking I remembered that Miss McKee and someone in the high school supposedly were together.  No need to be upset.  That was 50 years ago, and our memories can be fuzzy.  Pat, you knew the teachers after all of us left high school since you taught there, so I assume you would know.  I had not heard it was Mr. Duke though.  Sorry if anyone was offended.

Pat,

You are right.  Mr. Duke was the BEST.  He was so helpful to everyone, and so giving of his time.  I still appreciate his kindness and his guidance.  RIP indeed.  I am so glad he made it to several reunions.

John,

I'll help you if I can, but I'm a little confused.  This IS the forum.  And you have replied.

If you tell me where else you are wanting to message Guy, or write me at padre3210@yahoo.com and I'll see what I can do.

Lin had her surgery.  As of right now her foot and ankle are still numb.  They are hoping the feeling comes back, but there are no guarantees.  My poor sis has been through seven back surgeries.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that this time all will be well.  Right now she has to use a walk to get around.  Hopefully, that won't be for long and she will be walking regularly again.

Thanks so much for all the thoughts & prayers.  My left leg and foot (heel very numb) still numb, but I hope for the best.  Before surgery I was walking into the grocery so Fred had food at home & realized my shoe from my left foot was 10 ft. behind me.  Never felt the strap slide off or my shoe being left behind!  Funny.

Guys, let's let things just relax about things we remember from 50 yrs. ago!  We were KIDS and KIDS see things differently or remember rumors that may or may not be true!  Golly, I know some things I heard about teachers (and one was absolutely TRUE), but kids don't always remember exact details or the truth as it was!  Am sure Mr. Duke is resting in peace!  He was a nice guy & I don't think anyone was saying anything about his character, so let's let that go!
