Ellen ...thanks for posting that song...love it...never heard it before.  Our folk choir is singing oldies but goodies at the nursing home Valentine party today...wish we had learned this one...maybe next year.

Wishing everyone some love in their life today...and everyday.

Happy Valentine's Day.

I agree, Everlynnie.  I've watched it more than once and will do so again (and probably again).  Wish they had slowed it down a bit.  Glad you are enjoying it!

Just got back from my sister, Judy''s, place in Weston, FL.  Went on Friday (had a Valentine dinner w/them).  My baby turned 43 at 3:42 pm that day.  Remember hoping she would be born on Valentine's Day & she was!!  Derron was born 3 yrs. later February 24th, so he will be 40!!  Both on their due dates.  Thanks, Dr. Sanders!  Where has the time gone?  Could we all be this old?  LOL

Congrats John.  There is nothing better in life than the vicarious thrill of watching your progeny in action.  It was sad when my kids grew up and went away to college but what a pleasant surprise to make a comeback as a screaming grandpa from the sideline.  Watching soccer games, baseball games and swim meets are only part of the fun.  Piano recitals, orchestra concerts and singing events are wonderful too.  And there is nothing like "The Grandpa Awards Ceremony" when the grandkids bring their report cards home.  Maybe some of us will be lucky enough to do it all over again with our great grandkids.  And maybe we can finally do it right.

John, I have a granddaughter in Chicago named Claire who just turned two years old.  Her last check-up showed that she was 90% in height and 40% in weight so I am thinking basketball or beach volleyball.  You can never start too early.

OK Everybody!

Here's the deal...since we got upstaged by the 50th Class Reunion...(Which was AWESOME )...last year...and we didn't do our "Geriatric Silliness"...it's commin this year..our " 6 Annual Gathering Of Gerriatric Silliness". Plan on mid to late October.(most likely a Friday and Saturday event) If the Beachcliff Tavern works for everybody...thats cool...or throw out some suggestions so we can vote on them and "Gitter Done" !  I plan on doing this every year till I "Croak"...or am otherwise incapicated. So...start thinkin about it. My business Mgr., Nancy Westerfield, and my "Bouncer", John Dawson will be on-board to make this a "Barn Burner". Anybody else who wants to help...feel free to jump in! Let us know what dates would work best for the majority. BTW...somebody personally invite Buddy Manco who made it a point to tell me to let him know if we plan on another gig. START THE COUNTDOWN !!!

Well, haven't been on this site for awhile.  Too busy sunning & swimming.  J.K.  Just kidding. Really haven't sunned that much as it REALLY ages the skin.  Think all of the brown spots on my legs will eventually merge & become suntan all up & down my legs anyway!  A reunion in Oct. sounds great.  Barb can't come, but I can.  She may come to visit me this summer.  First time in our lives we will be separated this far apart.  Wow. Something about sharing the womb I guess....hmmmm.  Close then; close now.

Happy birthday to all those I forgot because I haven't been on this site.  Where are many of those who used to be on here?

Bruce,

What a great idea!  Let me know what I can do.  I think we need a broadcast announcement, don't you?

When should we let people know?

I'm IN!!

It is a sad day.  Thanks to Helen Hodgson for announcing the passing of Leslie Woodruff recently from colon cancer.  Leslie was a sweet lady, and I'm sure we will all miss her!  Our prayers go to her family and loved ones in California.

Details on Leslie Woodruff, from her friend Helen Hodgson:

Lesley was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer last July and, through the month of December, she felt quite optimistic that she was winning the battle. She remained optimistic and loved her husband, her family, her friends, and all of her animals passionately. My heart is breaking for the best friend I had in high school. If anyone of you have thoughts you would like to share with Jim, I know he would welcome them. A memorial service will be held at their home in Texas this Saturday, and one will take place later in California, where Lesley lived for so many years. Helen

I remember Lesley with such great fondness, and am so sorry to hear about her passing.  There were quite a few years when she was "missing" from our class list, and she was the number one person I wanted to know about.  So, I was so excited when she did appear, and I am so grateful for the update that she gave us.  Being a NP and PA is a big deal, and I'll bet she was wonderful at it.  Living in a small town, I know what she meant about the sense of community. I am so sorry she wasn't able to be at the reunion.

Helen, I am sorry for your loss.  I have a few friends in our class that mean the world to me, and I can't imagine losing them.  These friendships from our growing up years are treasures that can never be replaced.  Please accept my sympathy.

So very sorry to hear about Leslie!  I remember her as being just very sweet.  Had hoped to see her at the reunion.  Everyone we know enriches our lives in various ways and when one passes we lose some of that enrichment.  And feel the loss....And so, Helen, I will keep you and her family and friends in meditations.
