WELCOME BACK, FRED!  Love your humor & politics.  I know some won't like those comments, but you always speak the truth.  Why is it some smart people can't see the truth for what it is?  I never have understood that.  This is the first time I'm worried.  Missed you so much at the reunion.   Next time, you'll be there.

so i'm wondering,in the mail today i received a 40th class reunion book from a school that i never heard of before. i called our photographer, and they sent me this book, ours won't be ready for another few weeks, sure i hope i get the right one when its done. i think i lost alittle faith in these people who took our pictures, and our money. hopefully, it will all turn out alright.

Nancy: I threw my pic in the trash as I left the hotel.  It was so bad & he never let you pose before he snapped the pic. Then again, I'm not photogenic so that could be some of it!  It was great to see you again & hope we can have a mini soon.  But my back surgery is Oct. 21, so I have to have time to heal.  Pray this takes care of the pain I have every day. Alcohol helps, but I'm not a daytime drinker!

Sad and shocking news.  I just heard from my sister, Carol Camfield, that Bill Knoble passed away from a fatal heart attack on September 23.  He was studying geology at St Lawrence University in Clinton, New York, in addition to running a farm with 150 sheep, hundreds of turkeys, goats, etc.  He told his wife , Ellen Rocco, that he needed to get to a doctor right away, but we don't know if he died en route or shortly after arrival at the hospital.  Four weeks ago, he and his wife went cruising with my sister Carol on their sailboat in Halifax Nova Scotia for a week.  She says he was the picture of health, strong as a bull, and never would have pictured this happening.  He also leaves behind two children from previous marriages, two grandchildren, and countless fond memories for those of us who knew him.  Always marching to a different drummer, he was a warm human being, talented in muti-faceted ways, humorous, and with a zest for life that will live Forever.  We will miss him greatly.

RIP Bill Knoble.

Good move deleting your Facebook account Bruce.  We must all take a stand against the forces of collectivism, virtual lunacy and the alternative reality of social net.working

Because most of us knew him, and few of us saw him in recent years, Bill Knoble could easily be voted the one we most would have liked to know better.  This is a great reminder of why we need to gather together often.  We just never know who will be missing next time.

We will miss you Bill.

Eric, thank you for the news and the comments.  Bill was a good guy, and fully engaged with life.

Al,

I have been preaching the need for all of us to get together every chance we get. Because, Your right!..we are not promised tomorrrow. This is very much brought to the forefront with the loss in one month of Joel Skala,Phyllis Smith and Bill Knoble. To those of you who missed the reunion other than for health or financial reasons, or a legitimate reason other then those listed...there may be a time in life that you will regret it. There is no chance for a "Re-Do" Live each day as if it were your last....because it just might be your last. Tell your family and friends that you love them every chance you get...and remember, every chance you get...LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!!!

So sorry about Bill. Never knew him, but we all know OF them.

And Bruce, how is your wife?  Gosh, so many people I hadn't seen in 40 yrs. at the reunion.  Look, we're still talking about it.  Barb/I leave today for Fla.  Hope we can find her a condo soon.  She is excited but apprehensive.  She's never lived away from this area.  Me--I moved 7 times!  Had to make new friends every time we left after getting established in a city.  But a smile goes a long way!!!

barb, linda hope you find a good place to live, hope you can still come to our "mini" reunions when we have them. life is short, and as you getter older i think you appreciate what you have -good friends mean alot,as well as family. i have truly enjoyed myself more these last couple of years due to the "mini's". reconnecting with people i knew in school, but also connecting with people i didn't know that well then.i wouldn't have missed it for the world. seeing phyllis suffer these last 4 years was really hard for her family, knowing her from 7th grade on was hard on me,BUT she was always positive, uplifting, and happy. losing our classmates so close together these last few weeks, make us more aware of what we have with each other. so when any of you want another 'mini' you know who to contact,we will make it happen. love you guys

Yes, the Grim Reaper is relentless.  We better have some more reunions soon or there be no one left to turn on the lights.

As a person with a contrarian personality it has been easy for me to resist all the corporate marketing and advertising directing me to spend my money on all their stuff.  I have also been criticized by many for being a cheap stingy MFer.   Some of those who piled scorn on my frugality were addicted to shopping and spending while many others bought exactly what they were told by their corporate masters.  The big stupid cars, suvs and trucks that people drive back and forth to work are good examples.  Guts, Glory, Ram!!  HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!  It's pretty easy to laugh off that bit of childish corporate lunacy.

I drove three cylinder cars for years most of which I bought at repo auctions, packed my lunch, bought generics at WalMart and Sam's Club and shopped for cheap cruises on-line.  We rarely went out to eat except when we were cruising.  If my high school clothes still fit I would wear them.  I have a free flip phone and pay WalMart $30 a month with no contract.  We grow vegetables and fruits in the backyard, we buy most of our furniture at garage sales and Sun Ye cuts my hair ever since we were married 43 years ago.

However, while most people think I am a cheapo,   my wife makes me look like a spendthrift!  She has saved me about a million dollars over the years.

A HARP prodigy is among us.  Yes Evergreen Erb (Lynn) gave me a CD of her calming "heart's longing'.  The CD  is wonderfully recorded and she produced and wrote all the compositions herself.  Music from her heart.

I have enjoyed listening as would anyone.  I Tunes (I don't think so) though she should market the CD.  Wonderful for relaxation, hospice care, etc.

I have sent Lynn my special thanks but wanted to share with everyone.  By the way I thought you all looked great for your age - chuckle.

I was exhausted for several days but still thrilled to have spent time with my dear friends!!

Dear John and Randy,

I am looking forward to your visit to our fortified compound in Sugar Land, Texas.  Enclosed are a couple of sets of wire cutters for getting through the razor wire on the perimeter.  Don't forget to start low crawling when you get to the 500 yards of no mans land.  Don't worry the  machine gun rounds are at least 12 inches off the ground.  I have also enclosed some ear plugs to block the noise of the land mines.  They usually don't hurt anyone.  Ignore the skeletons and dead bodies on your way.  At the gate show your U.S. passports as Texas is now an independent country since it seceeded.  I have given the guards photos of you guys from the 1963 yearbook.  They probably won't open fire if you look the same.

Welcome to Texas!

F.T.

Fred,

You are one very, very funny man!  I think you and would probably kill each other over politics, but you are a riot!

Hey John!

I visited Fred, and I can tell you he is kidding about the land mines!   But, when I was scooting on my back, some of the bullets shaved my belly button.  Gotta watch for that.

I think you should go see him if you get into the area.  Sugarland is SW of Houston.  And the only ones that speak Spanish are his maid (upstairs only.  The downstairs maid speaks English!), his gardner, and his butler!

This is Fred's way of saying "I'm back!"

Bruce,

If you, or anyone, has difficulty seeing the Reunion pictures, please let me know.  While I have not yet posted all the pictures, I want to thank Nancy Depew, Bruce McKelvey, Cliff Obrock, Ellen Templar, Holly Koiro, Larry Gilbert, Martha Anderson, and Pat Winegard for sending theirs.  I've been out of town for a week, and will put up the rest soon, I promise.  I link seems to work now.  Let me know if it doesn't.

I think the reason Fred lives in a gated community is he gets that special water that they use in texas. Usually the gated community's are for special needs people. Tell Joe at the gate I will not be coming to your place, as I have been there and I do not require any water. Thanks anyway.

I visited the local Holy Roller Church last Sunday and when I arrived they were in full swing.  People were rolling in the aisles and speaking in strange tongues.  The Pastor was on the stage dancing and holding a wiggily snake in each hand.  Suddenly an old lady in a wheelchair was rolled out. The Pastor shouted, "Stand up", and then he bit the head off of one of the snakes.  Then the lady stood up from her wheelchair.  The Pastor yelled, "Now walk", and he bit the head off the other snake.  She walked toward the Pastor and then she started dancing.  The Pastor next dumped a box full of slithering snakes on the stage.

Al Gore's face showed up next on a screen behind the stage with a caption, "This is the warmest year on record."  Everyone started giggling and the Pastor announced, " Al and the pointy headed Yankee leebruls know that their climate records only go back 150 years and that according to the Bible the earth is actually 6000 years old".  Those yokels started laughing so hard that they were falling all over each other.  Those country bumkins sure know how to have fun and are a lot smarter than they look, at least a lot more intelligent than Al Bore and the leebruls.

HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!

Bruce & Holly,

Regarding viewing photos on Picasa, I found this:

"Checking in the Expert Zone Newsgroups, I typed in the search Internal error and found a message that said a few people had the HP All in One, as it turns out that is what was causing the problem. I unistalled it and no more error message, next step is to go to the HP web site and update drivers then reinstall printer."

So it may be old drivers in your computer.  To fix that, go here:

Update drivers for free here: www.radarsync.com (per Yahoo)

It cannot be fixed or adjusted at Picasa apparently.

Randy,

The REAL question is, is the Gated Community to keep us OUT?  Or to keep Fred IN?

Thats why I said something about "Sheriff" JOE. But Joe stays away from the water. I wonder what color the grounds keepers clothes are? I think most people in gated communities talk about going to heaven. It appears that none of them want to die, they just want out!

Wahoo!!  Am in Florida and found a great 2 bedroom 2 bath  condo in Estero!  Perfect for me other than it's a golf community.  Now I need to learn to golf.  Since my son is a Callaway rep in Dallas, I think I know where I can get a cheap set of clubs.  Should be back in Florida by mid-December to start a "new" and different life since I retired.  Am excited to avoid the snow for the first time in 68 years.  I remember the days it didn't bother me but this past year it was not fun.  So......here goes something new at 68!
