had a nice time with craig lawless,haven't seen him in 49 years,lives in oregon,hasn't been back for 15 years,came to visit his sisters and brother.went to herb's with phylli,tim,caro; w.,linda m. and me and one of his younger sisters. he's still a good looking guy and so nice.had a nice time,was glad to see him.

Thanks Ellen for the birthday wishes. I had the 'thrill' of sitting next to Buddy Rich years ago when he was a soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. As a youngster he was a tap dancer thus his extremely fast feet. During his solo with the ISO he stretched out both arms and hands and no sticks were touching a drum or cymbal and the sound continued. Just his Left and Right feet on hi hat and bass drum. What a talent. But also a son of a you know what. A little kid and father came up to him after a concert and the boy looked up to Buddy and said: "Mr. Rich, I play drum too" = Buddy looked down at him and said "so, what kid" and walked away.

Need I say more. Am enjoying my birthday and thanks for remembering my friend.

I am really looking forward to the big weekend in October. I am flying into Cleveland October 4th (Thursday) and plan on being at HERBS that night around 5:30 to get tuned up for the weekend. Anybody who wants to show up Thursday night COME ON DOWN !!!!! Marsha and I will be on Coronado Island for the whole month of September about 300 feet from Coronado Bay. Driving back..then i'm off to Cleveland on a solo trip to hang whit ma "Homies" Life is short...enjoy every day that the good Lord gives you!

All is well with me just looking forward to some cooler days in Texas.

I'm watching the Rangers tromp on the Indians as I write this. Yes, I've become a Rangers fan and it looks like there are more Texans in Cleveland today than there are Indian Fans!!! When they play here the stadium is always packed full of fun-loving people. Sometimes they even have "bring your dog night." ( and the dogs get free beer!!!!)
