Linda, if you had told me you were going to be in Florida I would have carried your suitcase for you!  Hope that you are having a FANTASTIC birthday today!  All together now.... Happy birthday to you, (etc)

AWWW!!  You guys.  What great birthday wishes.  Thanks to all of you on message forum and to those who sent me a note.

I don't know how you feel but I think 66 is scarier than 65.  It feels like it will be a fast and slippery descent right into 70.  And that IS scary. But as my brother told me "It beats looking at the bottom of a lawn mower" And I have all my classmates going into old age with me-only I'm the one kicking and screaming the whole way.

I am hopping a ride with Gene and Patsy to Florida on Tuesday. I have friends to visit and will connect with them in Naples later in the month. May stay until March 15th so hopefully spring will be here when we get back.

Thanks again everyone - you really made it a great Birthday!

Hi RRHS Classmates of 1963

Debbie and I are both retired now and looking for meaningful things to do with our extra time.

Something that is very important to both of us is the ongoing fight against cancer.  We have both lost a parent to this disease, along with a number of close friends.

On April 15th and 16th Debbie and I will be participating in a 24 hour "Relay for Life" in Awatukee, AZ.  It should be both fun and challenging.  A member of our team must be on the track at all times for the entire 24 hours.  It's been a really long time since either one of us has pulled an all-nighter!

We are looking for donations.  If anyone would like to contribute, please go to the following link to make your donation.

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY11GW?px=19056532&pg=personal&fr_id=33754

Thanks for your time and consideration.  Much appreciated.

Go Pirates!  See you at the 50th!

Guy

Nancy,

You should be very proud of your grandson, Ben.

Guy,

Good luck with your relay for cancer.

My oldest son, William is biking in the MS-150.  If you are interested in reading about it or donating I am posting a website below:

I forgot to mention that on my recent Caribbean cruise I saw a couple of clown fish named Randy and John while I was snorkling.

My youngest son, Robert got married on February 12th. See photo above.

Another Sweet Day in Sugar Land

I wake up to some hot coffee, toast and a fresh grapefruit from our backyard tree.

It's time for a nice one hour bike ride around our community. It's 70 degrees, sunny with a light breeze.

Time for a quick shower before going to church with all seven of us.

Off to the club, eating our lunch in the car. Lucky grandpa, I get all the crusts from the kids sandwiches. "That's the best part", I always say.

We do the usual rock climbing, basketball and swimming with the grandkids. Warren finally swims across the pool by himself.

Back home to watch Ohio State beating Indiana by 17 points at half-time.

On the road to get a tour of local TV channel 13 broadcast with our cub scouts.

Dinner at the Olive Garden paid for by our electric company rebate.

Another perfect day in Sugar Land, Texas!!

Fred,
At least you know how lucky you are!  I'm just surprised you were willing to take time out from all of that to tell us about it!
Hey, for those not so fortunate, especially those who are having high medical costs, I found a source for some free medical procedures, and thought you might want to know!
If you can't affort a doctor, go to an airport.  You will get a free x-ray and breast exam (for women), and a hernia exam (for men)!  If you mention Al Qaeda, you'll also get a free colonoscopy!
See Fred, you need to spend some of that dough and fly more!  (Don't forget to cough!)

If folks are willing to accept unearned gains in the stock market, they shouldn't be surprized when the market crashes. And if people are willing to accept an inexplicably higher price for their house, they shouldn't be surprized when the price flops. So, people who let a union bargin collectively for higher wages and benefits shouldn't be surprized when their collective union power disappears and they lose collective wage and benefits or get collectively fired.

Happy birthday everyone! Yes, everyday older is a wonderful milesatone and much better than the alternative, but I actually have more fun at my grandkids birthday parties.

Many people are wondering how the Federal Government could be so far down the road to insolvency, and yet a good look in the mirror would answer the question. Most people don't own their own homes, cars, furniture or even the toilet paper hanging in their bathroom. They have huge mortgages, leins, leases and credit card balances and are a only a few pay checks away from bankruptcy themselves.
