Gilbs,

This is a great time to take a Caribbean cruise if you don't mind cruising through some oil on the way.  Prices are down, especially out of New Orleans.

Fred, I'd go but I can't stand to see the poor pelicans covered in oil.  The TV stations are really having a ball with this catastrophe.  Bruce - I'm still here listening, but most days I don't have much to add.  My 65th is Monday - how the hell did I get that old???

Gilbs,

I  know your birthday is June 14th but happy early birthday anyway.  You're only as old as you feel and personally I don't feel a day older than 85.  My biggest challenge everyday is to bend over and put on my socks.  Man does that hurt.  When I find the guy who invented socks, I will kick his ass.

Hey Larry, Happy Birthday !! 65 isn't so bad, I been that way for almost a year. Now, all you have to do is retire.

All that money you money guys make you should be ready willing and able.

Happy Birthday Larry,

Don't retire, keep working so the social security fund lasts a bit longer for those of us retired folks.  You probably wouldn't enjoy retirement anyway.  Thre are so may difficult choices:  Golf or beach, Southern or Eastern Caribbean cruise, filet mignon or lobster or both, creme brulee or terra misu?  Retired life is one big question mark everyday.

Thanks, everybody, for the birthday greetings!  I had a great day (for an old guy)....  For the local members, have you seen Herbs Tavern's new patio?  It looks like a great place for a gathering, a burger and a beer.  We just need to pick a day and show up - who's in?

This is a great site - thanks to all for putting all this great information on it.  I just took time to really look around.  The part on social security is great.  We are so blessed that we spent 25 years in the Army because we get insurance till we die - what a benefit.  Bob just put in for social security because he is almost 66.  When I tried to apply she told me to wait till January and then I would fall in the right category so as not to have to pay an extra $1000 a month or something.  I'm all for it.  Thanks again for all the time you guys put into this site.  Great job!!!

I'm in Gilbs, give me a day and time.

I'm also sure Al and Cliff would be there with a very minor push.

That was an exciting soccer game today  for USA fans.  With ties against England and Slovenia we stand a good chance to advance to the knock-out round with a victory over Algeria.

Wishing all my classmate-dads out there a very Happy Father's Day today!  But also wishing an especially peaceful Father's Day to Patrick MacAllister.  Pat is the son of Gary MacAllister (RRHS '62) who is passed and Sue Herbert (Mag '64).  Patrick has just started a 4 - 5 month tour in Afganistan.  He served an 18 month tour in Iraq with some home/working time inbetween with his wife and 2 daughters.  Please uplift Pat in whatever medatitive/prayful/contemplative way you practice.

Ellen,

Patrick MacAllister is amazing  American.  How do we prduce such wonderful young men who are willing to serve and sacrifice for their country.  Everyone should be proud.

If Patrick is anything like Gary he will be one hell of a young man and soldier.
Gary was a great guy. Alot of fun, it was a pleasure to know him.

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

You hit the nail on both heads, Mike.  Patrick is a very special young man and one heck of a warrent officer with a lot of responsibility.  Gar is very much missed!

3.   (7 + 9 = 10)

Good job, but you're only half right.
