Friday night's class gathering was great!  Everyone loved Panini's party room, raved about the food, yakked and had fun. The photos are posted on the Home Page in the form of a slide show---so----wait a few seconds for them to change.  I'm starting to get the hang of the slide show thing and they should improve.  Hopefully.  Watch for a future announcement in about a week.

Hello Everyone - this is Paul - we moved to The Villages, Florida--do any of you live here....most of our transportation is on our Yamaha golf cart.  To really retire I had to get out of Indy.  As you may remember I still play drums-and within a month play drumset in at least 3 groups - a Rock Band may be my favorite.....do you all know about The Villages- live entertainment 365 nights a year at 3 squares-we have a beautiful home - if anyone has questions feel free to message me about this community....best to all of you.....my memories of our 50th will always be with me.  We find The Villages fun, huge and affordable....clean and safe

Paul

That's great news Paul.  We have considered it, and know several people there.  There are groups for everything so you can be as busy as you want to be.  I'm sure you will love it!  All the best!

Getting excited by the good response already for the 55th!  It's going to be fun, fun, fun.  Anyone have the answer? (it's as 50s tune):

Name this song:  "I play the game but to my real shame You've left me to dream on my own."

Soooo....how about multiple choice for this one:

Name this song:  "I play the game but to my real shame You've left me to dream on my own."  Is it?:

A.  "Hearts of Stone"

B.  "My Prayer"

C.  "The Great Pretender"

D.  "Learnin' The Blues"

Someone must know the answer......"

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

"The Great Pretender"

09/05/17 06:49 AM #2993

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

Yes!  Bobbie, Lin and Barbie!  That is the correct answer!

Let's try this one:  This song was # 1 for 10 weeks in 1956.

Who sang "Singing the Blues"?

A)  Buddy Holly

B)  Tommy Steele

C)  Guy Mitchell

D)  Marty Robbins

E)  Johnny Ray

F)  Elvis Presley (hereafter referred to as 'The King')

And NO GOOGLING for the answer!

Roberta Young (Berwanger)

GUY MITCHELL FROM BOBBI

09/05/17 02:26 PM #2995

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

Yep, Guy Mitchell!

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

Bobbie and Barb:  Yes, but...... there were 2 other artists that put a recording out for this song at the same time as Guy Mitchell.  Which is why there were so many choices. One of them did ok with it but one of them had it at the top of the charts in the UK for longer than Mitchell's was in the US.  Can anyone name those 2?

I am asking for prayers for Barbie.  She is in Tampa at this point.  Left Estero (near Ft. Myers) as there were absolutely no flights out since Monday to Columbus.  Our cousin lives w/husband in Tampa, then her brother lives further north w/his wife.  She drove up there, and today they will drive to David's house.  Has large house, generator, etc.  Am very afraid of what I see on the news.  Can't get to her; can't help make a decision; can't do anything but depend on my cousins who have lived there all their lives.  Oh hum.  Leaving it to God.  We are attached at the hip as you know.

Linda Peate (Powrie)

JOHNNY RAY AND BUDDY HOLLY?  OR ELSE MARTY ROBBINS.  GUESS THAT COVERS ALL OF THEM UNLESS ELVIS DID WELL IN EUROPE!!  LOL

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

We're all keeping Barbie in thoughts, prayers and meditations.  I have a cousin in Miami so please add her to the list! Leise.

Not Johnny Raye, Bobbie.  Lin:  Uh...too many guesses.  Someone needs to pick one.  Anyone?
