Most people don't seem to understand how someone could be recruited to ISIS over the sewer known as the internet. It seems obvious to me.  We have been propagandized and marketed to over TV and radio for years, mostly to sell products but also to sell political candidates.  It must be working or they wouldn't spend billions doing it. Marketeers convince people with two kids to buy a six bedroom mini mansion for $1,50,000 or a $50,000 metal box on wheels called a car.  They also convince people to buy an $800 smart phone that will be free next year and sell peoploe 50 cent cups of coffee for $5.00 at Starbucks.  People are gulliible enough to believe what they read on the garbage dumps called Twitter and Facebook while drinking their cafe frape are stupid enough to join ISIS. People don't buy what they need or even want.  They buy what they are told to buy.

A special Christmas thank you to Ellen Templar.  She is doing almost 100% of the web work here, (after Larry built it and ran it until the 50th) and few of us are aware of how much work that can involve.  Thank you Ellen!

Unstable Love

In a land far far away in a time long long ago she was all I wanted, all I needed, my love, my life.  That kind of romantic love though is inherently unstable as the outside world is constantly intruding on our little piece of heaven.  I was more boy than man with no job, no car and still tethered to my parents.  And then I was consigned to live like a monk in a monastery as a student in an ivory tower.  One misstep and the war draft was waiting.  It was not to be but I will never forget what real love was like even for those short few years.

Fred, that's amazing.  My husband was and is my only love.  Met at 17 and married almost 49 yrs.  Those first yrs. he was in  the Air Force as a 17 yr. old boy, Viet Nam looming over our heads constantly, Viet Cong training for weeks, where he slowly became a man;  and yet we found those letters, phone calls and infrequent visits the best ever!  Your heart ached every time you hung up or said good bye on a short visit, but looked for the day when we would no longer have to say goodbye!  Thanks for the wisdom and reminding me of those precious days, Fred.

As I was pulling down the old tannenbaum I noticed something glittering underneath.  What was it?  Had I forgotton a Christmas present?  I picked it up anf was surprised to see that it was a pot of gold. " Wait, something is inscibed on the side of the pot".  It read, "Home Equity".  I thought about it for a few seconds and then decided outloud, "No, I would be a fool to turn an asset into spending money".  "Poof", it disappeared and I caught a glimpse of an evil looking red figure with horns.  He disappeared too.  Luckily I did not fall for the devil's trap.  How about you?

Everyone is watching the clock to see if Al Gore's ten year end of the world prediction comes true this month.  Will the Warmers actually notice or will Al just go on to make some more nutty predictions.
