Linda Peate (Powrie)

Pat:  last I knew she lived in my neighborhood in Forest Meadows in Medina.  Can't even remember the street she lived in.  Still had a pageboy; still very thin; & the only thing we could do is google her on the internet.  She had an antiques store on the square, but am sure that is long gone.  Wasn't too friendly to me really!  She adopted a daughter named Katie & that's all I know.  May have retired to different state.  She had to have been right out of school when she taught.  Very young.  And VERY much played favorites for sure--to you boys!!!

Pat:  Just googled her & it says she lives in Medina.  Since 1988.  My internet is all messed up & maybe you can find her in Medina.

Update on Fred Thomas:

I speak with Fred every week.  He likes to talk politics and stocks, and does not say much about his condition unless asked.  (Bless him!)  He is in VERY good spirits, and so, if attitude can kick cancer, Fred's victory is a shoe-in!  He finished his last scheduled chemo yesterday, so he may not be feeling so terrific today.  Overall, he feels pretty good, considering, and is determined to kick cancer's butt.  I'm betting on Fred!  And so is Fred.

He has a cruise scheduled for December.   That boy has spunk!  If you want to say hello, or send good wishes, his email is fwthom@hotmail.com.  I'm sure he would be happy to hear from hios classmates!

I am sooo sad she lost her battle, but as you say, Nancy, she is no longer suffering.  It is so hard to think we have lost one more classmate.  Will send off a card.  Was hoping she would make it to the reunion but it wasn't meant to be.  God rest her in peace and surround her with love up there!

It's time to say many thanks to the reunion committee for all the work they did putting together our AWESOME 50th!!!  They all worked very hard, I know, to create this big, successful weekend for us.  And to Pat for eternally being our esteemed leader (although I understand, Pat, that you need to cut some grass....).  And to our very long and hard working webmaster, Larry (and keep them in your thoughts/prayers today for the recent loss of their pup, Charlie).    Thank you isn't enough.

And, thanks to DR for the awesome legacy he gave us as we are forever "Dancin' In The Moonlight!"

I couldn't resist posting this photo separately.  Paul Berns and his lady, Donna.  I asked her to smile.  You've got a really fun lady there, Paul!

I want all to know just how much I appreciated all the work that all on the Committee did to put on a fabulous Reunion Weekend.  It was so much fun, and so comfortable and comforting to know that we all have shared, and continue to share, a great sense of community.  What a fabulous class we are a part of.

Thanks to all that were involved with this great weekend!  I believe with such a huge amount of classmates that came the 50th turned out to be the best.  So many people to reconnect with in so little time.  Friday was tough to try and talk to so many people that turned out.  Saturday was a blast, especially everyone getting out on the dance floor with all having a good time--no inhibitions.  The Geesz Cats were phenomenal--think the stroll was probably the most fun for all--lots of participants.  Again, thanks to those working tirelessly to plan the weekend, many of which were behind the scenes and we weren't aware of--hard work, but fantastic job!!  Nancy, you did a great job holding up after the passing of your best friend Friday morning.  When you emailed, I wanted to hug you and cry with you but was still in Westerville.  Larry, so sorry to you and Toots about your little Charlie--I remember how cute he was.

Barb

Hey Y'all,

For anyone who has an interest...there is a Car Cruise-In tonight at Beardens at 5:30. I am planning on being there. There is also a Cruise at Great Northern tomorrow night. I'm gonna go check that out as well. I still have a buzz on from all the GREAT Reunion stuff....

By the way, Alan--thanks from everyone for making the name tags with a font that all at our age could read w/o "granny glasses."  YEAH!!!  Had a great time dancing w/you and I was happy I was still able to follow!

debbie murphy contacted me yesterday, really wants a 70th, so we will make this happen,i talked to and sat next to people i never even knew in class,so much fun.  thanks barb for thinking of me.   thanks marcia, for making the cards ,tim will get hers tommorrow at her funeral.   we are so lucky to grow up in river,so lucky to have good classmates, even if you didn't really know them in school.  i've never seen so much chatter on this website, as today and last nt., its like were teenagers again,we all have something in common-friendship

I agree about the 70th Class Birthday.  It would be really simple to go on a dinner cruise like we did on the 25th on the Nautica.  No dinner plan, no decorating, no band hiring!  The only thing is they are about 2 hours long (I think), so we could have a cocktail party first, or something.  We could arrangfe a hotel deal, as most would stay only one night.  What do you think, Nancy?

PS I talked to Fred.  He is doing ok, but we had a poor phone connection.  He has no idea about our surprise.  Going out today.  I'll give you more details when I chat with him again.

Holly Portz (Koiro (1945-2023))

I can't believe the long awaited reunion is already a memory and I'm back in Texas again. I'm so glad I came;  it was great to see everyone...wish we'd had more time to really visit. It all seems a blur!  I spent the most time talking to people I didn't know that well in h.s. and that was interesting.  Barb and Lin were right across the hall and I hardly got to visit with them at all.  I thought everyone looked great, all things considered, we are well-preserved!  The planners did a GREAT job with everything. THANK YOU!  It was so good for my "new heart" to see Rocky River, Lake Erie and the CYC again and to see that the new owners have taken really good care of my old home.  I really hope we will keep this website and forum up and active.  I was pouring my coffee in my RR mug this am and said to Jerry, "Look, I got a new coffee mug!"  His reply,   "Pretty expensive coffee mug"!  Lol.   Thanks to all for the great memories and prayers for those who weren't able to be there.  I will send some photos to Alan soon.   ♥  Holly
