Alan Greenleaf

Great pic of Joel, Nancy.

Makes me think we ought to have a 55th Reunion rather than wait until the 60th!  We could lose half of us by then.

Life is short.  Let the Reunion be sweet!

Such sad news.  My heart goes out to Joel's family.  It goes to show we don't know what is around the corner.  Decided to reitre the end of this month and am happy I did.  Would like some peace and fun for as many years as I get.

Barb

John,

That address for the Funeral Home sounds just about where the Manners BIG BOY used to be...

I stopped by this afternoon....and it is the old Manners!

Joel had a pink shirt on and I told Marianne that is so Joel, and she said that that is what "the big oaf would have wanted."

Very sad, he was so looking forward to our 50th!

RIP big guy!

I am so sorry to hear this sad news about Joel.  And even sadder for those of you who were close to Joel and had so many good memories to share  (thanks John).  I hope tonight will be a good trip down memory lane and a few pints to drown your sorrows.  See  y'all soon, God willing!

So sorry for Joel's passing.  It's shocking you can be here today, & gone tomorrow like that.  Did not know him really.  I told John Dawson up at the lake a couple yrs. ago visiting w/classmates at Ellen's, he walked in the door & looked at Ellen/me & I said, "you have no idea who we are, do you?"  He said, "no, not really."  Then walked passed.  We laughed our heads off.  No one knew me that much in hi school either!!!  He then realized who we were later & we had a chat!

By the way, some of us, not that guys care, have decided that since this is our 50th, that Sat. nite we ARE wearing dresses.  Now some say it's casual, but I dress casual every day of my life.  So, some of us will be wearing dresses.  Guys, it's optional for you!

I hope I remembered to pack my Carol Burnett "Mop Woman" dress.  If not, I'll just have to visit the thrift store to do some shopping!

Well, Bruce, I would almost believe you, but his "bride" from "Father of the Bride" is absolutely the cutest, sweetest looking woman & I'm sure he wouldn't want some old lady with her to go home to!!!  Besides, Fred is my knight in shining armor.  Almost didn't get to the prom as no one asked me.  Then along came a Lakewood guy that I've been with for 46 yrs. & HE took me to the prom.  No one wants to go to the prom w/their cousin as my mother actually suggested!!!  Too funny.  Tragic then, but funny now.

By the way....there a couple of people who I would think  don't have a clue as to the dates of the Class Reunion. Gary Mason and Roger Schach. If somebody knows Rogers phone number,or how to get ahold of him..please give him a call. Also, Gary Mason..if some local could stop by his Body Shop just east of Beardens after 1:30 pm  and give him the scoop..that would be awesome.

Also, it's official, The reunion kick-off ceremony for the class reunion will be at HERBS on Tuesday night at six oclock. If you have not heard about this before...it's cuz I just thought it up a couple of minutes ago! But who cares!  All this is contingent  my plane getting to Cleveland at 3:30 pm on Tuesday as scheduled !. for anyone who cares..I got a great rate at the Redroof Inn in Westlake...$41.99 per night. It's a nice place for the money...clean rooms...great staff.

You all can wear your bathing suits if you want.  We just thought we'd dress up a bit since it's our 50th!  But, it doesn't matter what you wear.  Just was telling some of the women so they knew some of us were dressing up.  Did Randy ever decide if the food was something he wanted to eat?  My husband has Crohn's Disease, so he always requests things w/out spices & garlic.  Randy, maybe if it's a health issue you should call them up & request something to accommodate that.  Restaurants are great w/that.  You will know the twins, Marcia, Sue (Gammel), & Sally Willey as we will be the only ones in dresses!

OK.  So you are all nuts.  I always planned to wear what I wanted.  At the 40th I was probably the only one in a dress.  Did I care, No?  So Friday casual & Sat casual or dress up whatever anyone wants to wear.  I am casula every day at my office after years of getting to dress up.  So, I want to dress up as opposed to casual.  That is just me!  I will always do what I want.  What I really care about is how Phyllis Smith and Fred Thomas are doing.  This Friday, 8/30, is my LAST DAY OF WORK AFTER 33 YEARS!!!!   Yeah!!!!!

phyllis had surgery last thursday, to help relieve the pressure on her spinal cord, so she won't become paralized. her tumor there has gotten bigger, and cancer is in all her bones. when she leaves the hospital, i was told she probably will go into rehab and start up her radiation again. it's aday, by day thing for now. she is a sick liitle girl, but strong.keep her in your prayers, she sure needs them.

happy for your retirement, i'm just not ready yet, though i cut back to 32 hours aweek. and i may even wear a dress both nts., i think this is like school- are we wearing nylons, or bobby socks-it brings alot of good memories back, that we can still do this  is fun among our classmates.  i think we are all ready for the 50th,it took us along time to get here. people at my work are tired off me talking about all of our "mini's",they said we must need alot of pratice-what the heck do they know. love all you guys.

Being in the Arts my entire career it would not surprise me nor bother me to see my high school classmates in dresses, especially the football players..  Though none of you knew me until my junior year I want everyone to know that I preferred 'wheat jeans' in high school and does anyone remember Levy's actually had 'baby blue' jeans.

There, I just wanted to share this valuable information before the reunion and to explain I have always had asense of humor.

My wife Donna will be the blond......I have gone to great expense to have a wonderful bald wig with a ponytail made custom for me.

Best to all.  I am so sorry about the health issures and passing of our friends.  Especially sorry for those of you that went through elementary and jr. hs  with them.

Best
