Thanks for the birthday wishes, Linda, Ed, Barb, and Ellen!  I have decided not to have any more of these.  I'll just stay with this one.

Ed, have a great bike ride!  I love Key West, and stayed a while at Key Largo.  I hope to again.  If you ever want a political discussion, please let me know!  Otherwise, there is still food, drink, and wimmin to talk about.

Is that sexist to say "wimmin"!!!  LOL  Guess some people would say that!  But I'm not one of them!

Reminder!  The next RRHS '63 Class Happy Hour will again be at Bonefish Grill, in Westlake, Detroit and Crocker Rd, March 2, at 5:30 pm!

I'll send out a mailing this weekend, but some of the classmates do not use email, so if someone can make sure Gerry Gouch and Gary Mason or others are aware of it, that would be helpful!

As the snow still falls gently from the sky, visions of summer sun and fun are setting in. Many of you are no doubt looking forward to the summer and planning at least loosely for it. Will you be heading to the beach? The mountains? The prairie (ok, there’s not a lot of prairie east of the Mississip but for those out West it is vast)? Do you live near Cleveland/RR? Are you planning to visit in and around Cleveland/RR?

We would like to plan a 2017 summer gathering of classmates. But, we want to do it when many of you will be in the area. So, we would like to know the summer dates you will be here. Please let us know and we will plan a date when out-of-towners will be around. We’re thinking Houlihan’s on a weekend that will bring as many of us together as possible.

Please email Ellen: umpquariver@isp.com or Al: algreenleaf@gmail.com

Send us your dates and we will work to include you in some summer fun with your classmates!

Barb will be visiting me for the month of July.  Maybe we can have something July or beginning of Aug.  But it won't just be for us, I know!  If it works out that way, then we will be there!  Hoping to see Susie Matthews Munn when she is in Fla.  Darcy Driscoll also could meet us which would be just a little mini reunion here in Fla.!

Bobbi,

So glad to see you on the site again.  We need new input here for sure!  Would be so happy to see you again. Hopefully, we can work out time so some of us can meet.

Dear Classmates,

My mom passed away at 94 this weekend in Massachusetts, where she lived near my sister, Diane. Our family was at her bedside and that included, of course, my sister, Maria, and her husband, Eric Spooner.

Mom loved our class! From the time we were in elementary school (Beach School for me) she was involved in our school activities -- Brownies, Girl Scouts, room mother, attendance at football and basketball games, and the All Night Party planning and entertainment. She enjoyed visits from classmates at our home--usually sitting on the front porch. She had an interest in all of you.  I was really surprised, though, when she attended the Friday evening event at our 40th reunion, that I couldn't attend.  But I know she just wanted to visit with all of you after all those years.

Mom loved our class and all of you. I will miss her very much.

Cheryl:  I was so sorry to read here about your mom. I remember her well from our neighborhood days playing together as children. She was fun to be around and grew those wonderful, big sunflowers. I remember her as our Brownie/GS leader. She helped me earn a lot of homemaking badges. I remember her teaching me how to darn socks. She taught us skills that I still use. She was patient, kind and a joy to be with. I know you all will miss her very much.

Cheryl,

Sorry to hear about your loss.  The memory of your Mon will always be with me.  She was a big part of my High School memories.  And I did get to see her at the 40th reunion.  Blessings to you and your family!

Cheryl:  So, so sorry about your mom.  I really didn't know her,. But I know when you can't pick up the phone to call your mom anymore, it's very difficult.  We certainly for the most part have had our parents longer than our parents had their own.  Not sure it's such a great thing due to so many health issues.  It was hard to watch my mother struggle after a massive stroke.  She made it to 2 wks. shy of 99, though.  Please give our condolences to Marie and Eric.  Blessings and strength to get through this difficult time.

Dear Cheryl,

So sorry to hear about your Mom.  At 94, she did live a good, long life.  So glad all of you were at her bedside We sisters were as well with our Dad and our Mom.  I remember speaking with your Mom on that Friday night of the 40th reunion.  It was so good to see her again.  Condolences to your entire family, especially your sister as you mourn her loss but remember the good times.  Memories will be with you forever.

Fondly,

Barb

Thank you all for your kind words about Mom. She always was interested to hear about your lives because I could tell her things from the website. It has been a terrific way to keep in touch with the past and the present. Again, thank you.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for your note about Mom. I can picture her sitting on your porch with your mom.  We lived in a nice, friendly neighborhood. Mom didn't drive until we were in college, so that bike went all over Rocky River. I will tell Maria and Diane of your kind words.
