To echo Barbie, please keep Mike "Buddy" Manco and his family in your thoughts, prayers and meditations as they work to cope with overwhelming grief from the loss of a child. It is something some of us can relate to and all of us can empathize with. The days, weeks and months ahead will be challenging for them but perhaps if they know we are sending thoughts in their direction it will help to comfort them a bit. Their address is:  1175 Creekwood Lane; Westlake, Ohio 44145 if you'd like to send a card.

I am sorry for Mike & his family and the loss of their daughter, Marcie.  I have not experienced a loss in my family other than my parents and grandparents. I can't imagine losing a spouse or child. I did when I was almost nine years old lose my mother to stomach cancer, so I can sympathize with the little children. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

May God keep the Manco family and Marcie's children in his loving care.  Godspeed, Marcie - you will be missed, but your children will be surrounded by the love of your parents and family.

Columbus Day is one of my favorite holidays. Columbus thought he was coming for God and gold but it also was the beginning of the spread of Western Civilization to the Americas.  Europeans ended the practices of blood letting, human sacrifice and cannibalism.  European diseases killed 90% of the native Americans who died but they were conquered by superior numbers, technology and tactics.  Luckily for us.  Thank God for Christopher Columbus on this Columbus Day..

Linda Peate (Powrie)

So Fred, today I heard that now people are going to change the name Columbus Day to "Indigenous Persons' Day" which means the following:  Columbus was a horrendous person because he had slaves on his boat while discovering the world, so now many people want to change the name to actually praise & recognize people who weren't horrible like Columbus!  Now what do you say?  I am sure you have a comment Mr. T..  (Hmmmm....didn't we have an actor by that name with lots of gold chains???!!!)

Native American tribes had slaves too.  The Incas and Mayans had blood letting and human sacrefice.  The Caribbes were cannibals.  No where in the Americas had they even invented the wheel.  Anyway Columbus came and started a process of conquest.  The Indians lost and we won. Now they are sore losers.  They should be happy with their casinos and oil wells and quit over eating and consuming so much fire water.

My wife Bonnie and I would like to thank all my classmates that took time to either post their condolences and/or send cards.  It was so gratifying tous.  Words at this time are hard to come by that adaquately express not only the sorrow, but the kindness of others.  May Goss bless you all.

Never let an opportunity go by to hug your chrildren, grandchrildren, brothers, sisters, and anyone else you care about as love can never be overstated and life (as we all know) is getting shorter.

10/13/15 09:53 AM #2525

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Mike, hope you and Bonnie are filled with peace that Marcie is no longer suffering.  It is so hard to let go of a child.  The order of death is mixed up, but God has a plan and we have to believe His plan is better than our plan is, no matter how hard it is.  I wish I could hug my daughter just one last time, but it's not to be.  So Mike you have two of Marcie's children whose faces reflect those children every time you look in their eyes.

You don't have to be a scumbag ghetto rat to likr free stuff.  Back in the day I was lined up for free cheese too.  Now the politicians are trying to out do each other in promising free stuff.  But why stop at free housing, free health care and free college?  How abouty a free car?  And why noit free lunch?  And best of all, why not some free toilette paper?  In fact an agent of the government should come around and wipe our ass.  Now that would be a wonderful world.

Barbara Peate (Sabo)

Fred, you certainly read my mind!  You are too funny!  It is sad, though, all the free things being promised so votes are gotten but yet no way to pay for it.  What about working for it?  That's an idea!enlightened

Free people are not equal.  Equal people are not free.   (Think this one over and over…makes sense!)
"A gun is like a parachute.  If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."
The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

That 70th photo on the Homepage goes unidentified so far.  Someone has to know them so do tell us who they are!  Or at least give a good guess.  We're all waiting to hear!    HALLOWEEN QUICK QUIZ:  Where in the world are we in the background picture???!!!

10/25/15 12:17 PM #2531

Bruce McKelvey (McKelvey)

Ok Ellen....let me see ?????  The three in that picture are...Left to right, Bruce McKelvey, Carol Walling, and Nancy Westerfield. Am I Close ?   Not 100% sure on the guy on the left though.....

10/25/15 02:28 PM #2532

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

Oky, Bruce, you got your name on the Homepage.  So, now classmates, I've worked to make the next photo easier so that maybe someone who wasn't in attendance might ring in on this one!!!!

Bonnie Kraft (Black)

This one is easy because you can read their name tags. However, I challenge classmates to guess what Guy's middle name is. As a young boy he kept it a secret. I'll give you a hint, it starts with the letter "C". And, it's not Clark or Craig.

10/26/15 01:03 PM #2534

Ellen Aspinwall (Templar)

Intentionally easy, Bonnie.  But before I can award your name mention prize on the Home Page, please do name them here in the message forum.  You can leave out middle names.   Great challenge!!!

Linda Peate (Powrie)

Bonnie:  OMG how the heck are you?  You have been silent for yrs.!!!  Ok Ellen:  It seems only those who attended or Barb/Me decide to throw answers in!  I won't answer, but maybe some who are afraid to answer should just jump in & try!!!  Leave for Fla. next Tue. so I don't want to ruin any pics that someone else might guess.  Jump in & give it a go!!!!

10/27/15 01:11 AM #2538

Bonnie Kraft (Black)

Oh my goodness Ellen, you're a stickler! It's Guy Cartwright and his lovely bride, Debbie.  Happy now? 😊

Now, who knows Guy's middle name?

10/27/15 08:29 AM #2539

Barbara Jacobus (Manning)

Some days I can't remember my own middle name, but Guy's middle name was Clemens?

10/27/15 08:30 AM #2540

Barbara Jacobus (Manning)

Sorry, IS Clemens, unless he changed it!
