An additional note on the picture, I'm pretty sure that's little Tommy Wentz behind Tom Wentz and Danny Weist. To the left talking are Ted and Barb Sabo but not sure with whom we were talking with the dark hair.
Last week I was watching the local news, and they aired a song that Michael Stanley (graduated from River in 1966 and formed the Michael Stanley Band) recorded with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra in Cleveland. It's an absolutely beautiful song, "Another New Year's Eve." There are 70 members recording individually from home, combined in one video. The song was co-written by him and bandmate Bob Pelander and appeared on his 2012 solo album.
Kudos to Michael Stanley to raise funds for this wonderful youth group.
Well...that was quick. Sorry about that Debbie. There are no details as yet. Gary was not there when it started and, fortunately, is safe. His 5 cats perished and his motorcycles are probably beyond saving, along with the shop is gone. But HE is uninjured and alive! Watch for an update in the next day or so on the Home Page.
I am so so sorry to read of Gary's misfortune...as if he didn't have enough to deal with already. Sure makes me count my blessings. Hopefully, there is insurance that will help him financially even tho you can never replace all the treasures and memories. My heart aches for him. He is lucky to be in Rocky River where so many old mates can rally around him. Give him a hug from me.
Thanks, Holly. I will let him know your good wishes when I visit with him later today. And thanks for your donation! Also thank you to Al Greenleaf and Bruce McKelvey for theirs!
