In Memory

Barbara Hunt

Barbara Hunt

Barbie passed away in late 1963 or 1964.  I finally remembered that Laurie called me at UW to let me know she had passed in a car accident.  Her life was too short.

Friend of my childhood---we spent so many gradeschool/junior high days and summers together. Sweet girl and that smile was always on. Barbie had the neatest mom. Sharing, giving people. I still miss you!

What a dear friend. A great flautist. And always so much fun.

Miss you.

A tribute to Barbie from Patricia Brown, RRHS Class of '64:

Barb and I were in the same Mariner Scout troop together that took week long trips each summer.  Barb was a year ahead of me. She taught us to play the ukelele and what fun we had around the campfires in the evening. I still strum that uke every now and then.
I remember her sitting in the middle of our canoe on one long trip when her fair skin got badly sunburned, but she joked and kept us paddling.  Another time some of us pulled an immature prank on a counselor one summer, which we felt very bad about.  Barb helped us get perspective and laugh about it afterward.  So sorry to hear such a kind spirit is no longer with us.

I WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF BARB'S IN JR. HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL. WE WERE IN BAND TOGETHER. HER PARENTS WERE SO NICE AND SUPPORTIVE DURING SLUMBER PARTIES AND BOYFRIENDS AND DANCES. I REMEMBER THAT BARB PASSED IN 1970 OR 1971 IN A FREAK CAR RELATED ACCIDENT LEAVING A 2 YEAR OLD CHILD. I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT TO UPDATE THE MEMORY LIST.
